About me:

(My Website- art blog & portfolio)

Who am I? Here's a quick abridged version if you don't want to view the rest of my rambling description:

I'm a geek-praising, rock 'n' rolling, pirate-playing, Coke-drinking, computer-building, digital-painting, concept-drawing, belly-dancing, comics-reading, web-designing, photo-taking, geo-caching, fish-keeping, kitsch-buying, wiki-editing, IRC-idling, Tivo-watching, Warcraft-leveling, Cuban-Jamaican American.

Oh, and I have a Myspace.

I only mention that because the world just isn't cool enough for Livejournal anymore. I'm probably the only one who still knows the secret handshake with the decoder ring.

Unabridged version: I'm a 26 year old artist living & working in the Orlando, Fl, area. I graduated from Valencia and University of Central Florida as a Digital Media: Internet Interactivity major, and I was attending the Savannah College of Art & Design part-time to get my MA in Interactive Design & Game Development until I became frustrated with lack of quality in educational institutions in general. I took some time off, and now I'm happily enrolled in AnimationMentor.com.

In simple terms, I fingerpaint all over the internet. The technical term for this is "web designer". I also do a bit of everything-- If it's considered artsy or multimedia, I probably do it too. I can make amazing macaroni sculpture with the best of them.

I am a visual alchemist.

I also like to draw, and I'm almost good at coloring within the lines. Almost.

I'm also the proud founder of Dr. Sketchy Orlando. If you like to drink and draw swanky costumed models, then you should check it out.

I have lots of hobbies and interests, but my main ones are playing video games, designing web sites, drawing & painting, photography, reading sci-fi & fantasy books, comic books, anything Disney, and bellydancing. I've been bellydancing for about three years now. Yes, I can undulate, though I'm not very good at it. For your own personal safety, you should never see me dance.

I'm a total geek. If you remind me of Han Solo, make lolcat references, and know how to flash your BIOS, I'm probably ready to be your best friend. I love all things computers (having built my own boxes for as long as I remember) and random gadgetry, as well as Nintendo, space exploration & NASA, steampunk, animation, and scifi.

I also have a horrible sense of humor-- Everything is funny to me, and I adore quick wit and banter. On that note, most of my friends are guys, and I'm always on the internet. I doubt you can offend me. Let's talk about how common vaginal centipedes really are, or popular 70's hairstyles. I'm told I have a quick wit and good sense of humor, which is true if by "sense of humor", they meant "inability to rationalize my terrorizing fear of chewing gum".

I'm Irish. No, really. I also speak fluent Spanish, and I've learned a little useless but useful Japanese. I love asian, indian, polynesian, and middle eastern music, art, & culture. Learning about mythology has always been a hobby of mine-- I've very familiar with Greek & Roman. I also love vintage/retro/swanky/space age culture, such as big band music, tiki/Googie design, martinis, Elvis, Sinatra, & Dean Martin.

Everything is always cooler under threat of total nuclear devastation.

In music and pop culture, I'm also a big 90's dork and I hate the 80's. Everclear is still my favorite band, along with Collective Soul, Garbage, and Fiona Apple. I'm also a huge fan of Trip Hop and anything loungy, such as Bitter:Sweet, Hooverphonic, Supreme Beings of Leisure, etc. I love California & Vegas. I've been to Japan. I plan to visit Hawai'i and Colorado sometime soon. Miami is still the most beautiful city I've ever seen-- the smell of tire fires from protest rallies in summer and the soft roar of angry Cubans honking makes my heart melt.

I'm a sentimental fool, I know.

Who I'd like to meet:

Animators & Artists
