Sounds LikeHere are some reviews!!

Coyote 'Harlyn Bay' (Is It Balearic?)

The howl of this Coyote is more like a technicolour starburst exhalation where, if time doesn't stand still, it at least kicks back and basks in a unique feeling of unbridled calm and mindblowing sonic rapture. Timm Sure and Ampo were part of Unity Crescent, who showed signs of this direction but, striking out on their own, set the controls for the heart of the sun and Ibiza's Salinas Beach when it sets, boasting an innate ability to transform the back garden or anywhere it's sprayed. They've released several wonderful EPs on their Is It Balearic? label. Now comes a whole album, stuffed to the pulsating gills with exotic aural flights and pastoral melodic swirls. 'Pacific Breeze' gets proceedings under way with languorous piano riding gorgeous waves of rippling guitars and sublime strings, setting a template of shimmering textures and steady, rolling beats through tracks like 'Wildness', 'Love Handles' and 'California', all operating in endless dub canyons. The blissful drift of 'Electric Sunburst' could be the ultimate Balearic statement while the female vocals wafting over 'Boat Trip' add another dimension, as does the acid flecking 'The Beach'. 'Poyote Sunset' injects Native American expounding into its opiated bongo-pattering dream-state, the album's trademark gentle guitars particularly effective here. 'Live This Life' takes the album out on a raft of tranquil pads. The tracks all hover around the six or seven minute mark, allowed to breathe, sprout luminous tentacles and fly to places rarely glimpsed on modern electronic records often bent on darkside scuttling. At Harlyn Bay the sun comes out and never goes down. Kris Needs

Coyote EP6 (is it balearic)

They keep dropping 'em [EPs, that is] and every one's a winner, sparking a reaction like that cartoon dog who nabs a biscuit and floats sighing to the ceiling as Ampo and co hark back to the original laidback Balearic style which few can manage with conviction. 'Drop Out' dons multi-hued turbo-keks for an exotic hallucino-dub shuffle sprinkled with guitars and delicious opiated haze. It's an astute move bringing in the mighty Justin Robertson for the remix, a true veteran master of the atmospheric vamp. Here he adds extra break, pattering bongos and new melodies to create something rather special. 'How You Doin'' is another dubby floater with ethereal melodies and distant squirrel foreplay, the remix handled by another guaranteed result as the International People's Gang take off on a gorgeous, shimmering Balearic cruise whose slo-mo groove and haunting, opiated ambience indeed recall the Weatherall epics of the early 90s. Coyote are currently working on an album. It could the sound of the summer [If any record labels out there are reading].

Coyote 'EP4' (Is It Balearic?)

I've unashamedly slobbered like a loon over the previous three excursions into a deeper state of blessed-up hallucino-dub which is so perfect for warm afternoons and sun-kissed beaches that this simple mission could be doubted, hence the label's title. Now they've progressed, speared through the clam's udders and emerged the other side with a new dub hybrid while also venturing into song territory, placing a sampled vocal over acoustic guitars and percussive shuffle on 'A Part Of Me'. At times I'm reminded of mid-90s Orb, when Dr Alex and crew returned to explore the Earth as a nuclear dub band with the heavy basslines and a barrage of alien melodies and fried King Tubby on toast, also the way they use a sample of a native American woman expounding about coyotes and stars on 'Coyote Star' [which I swore at first was Patti Smith]. 'Afro Balearic' introduces effective percussion, coming with a wigged out dub from Rune Lindbaek. What this lot are up to is great: never mind is it Balearic, is it good? The answer is a resounding affirmative [served with lashings of reverb by a naked rooster in a day-glo cod-piece]

Balearic maestros Coyote haven't made a song, they've crafted an otherwordly dreamworld of lush Kraftwerkian beauty, an aural escalator which climbs into the sky and through those sweet clouds where Aphex Twin and Brian Eno sit in the lotus position sewing ambient tapestries or recreations of Nirvana, further out into the space beyond where instead of sidereal cold you feel eternal warmth, as if angels & cherubs where embracing your tired bones, hanging a hammock between two stars and laying your body there so you can enjoy some well-deserved rest from the oft unbearable greyness that is reality.

COYOTE 'EP 2' (IS IT BALEARIC?) They've done it again! Coyote are one of the few outfits unafraid to plug into the original Balearic vibe of soul-soothing tranquility and chilled joy, without overcooking or just sounding daft. Timm Sure and Ampo were part of Unity Crescent and their latest incarnation steers right onto Salinas Beach at sunset but works equally as well on what sunny afternoons do pop up at home. 'Crazy World' is a boogie-based groover flecked with acid while 'Eve' features Sicilian flamenco guitarist Saro Tribastone amidst a wash of warmth and smiles. 'Too Hard' relaxes even further with bongos and sonic breezes, coming with a sublimely shimmering piano-dominated remix from Eskimo's Aeroplane, The whole thing's an all-round timeless beauty.

"Going Down" is chill out sans the cheese, that constructs a constant flux of bliss through Talk Talk-ish piano-led ambience, a palpitating mix of bongos and live drums, and fluttering synth oscillations that borrow from select Richard James' ambient works. The vocal snippets only send you deeper into paradise, muttering like you've been professionally hypnotised. If Calgon can't take you away, try Coyote on for size

Rob Da bank (Sunday Best / The Blue Room - Worldwide) 'Coyote very good too and will play on the show'

Bill Brewster (fabric // faith // low life etc - london) 'Crazy World is very good. '

IDJ Magazine

"Is It Balearic" Ask producers Timm Sure & Ampo as they launch their own label. "Quite possibly" we answer. The Three original tracks here are certainly deep, cosmic and trippy, all slo-mo 4/4 beats, trippy synths and occasional bongo licks. If you have a scruffy beard and think Daniel Baldelli is god, then this is for you - especially Phoreski's ludicrously smacked-out rework of "Blue Skies" 4 stars*

Clive Craske (Big Chill Sundae (Big Chill Bar), Reverb Roadshow (various Brighton venues), Glastonbury Festival (Glade stage) - Brighton) 'With such a wide variety of tracks this EP is impossible to classify (a truly Balearic trait)! T1 is floor fodder T" is chilled out bliss and T3/T4 are something else. Coyote deserve to be huge - but are they just a bit too varied and unclassifyable for their own good? I hope not - respect is due!' Favourite Track / Mix: 2. Eve - Feat Saro Tribastone

Chris Coco (Various - UK) 'loving this much better than ep1 will put in the bag for Big Chill immediately.'
