Computer Geek, Party Freak!
I started mixing the two some time ago with positive responses from friends.
After years of ignoring plea after plea for me to go public and record an album I decided to try giving some CDs to DJs only and so far the response has been overwhelmingly positive.
CookieMel asked "Do u spin on a laptop or on actual vinyls?"
I currently use a home PC. I have not used vinyl for years since I retired from DJing mixing up to five decks back in the days of rave! Exhausting times! Now all my mixing is done on the PC as the programs I use allow me greater control of my mixes without the exhaustion and fatigue I used to suffer. The biggest plus for me is if the program will not do what I want I am able to rewrite the base code. So I always get the sound I want.
I am a CJ - Computer Jockey
or an EJ - Electronic Jockey
I would not describe what I do now as DJing
Nicky asked "Why Cpt. Scarlett" Lois asked "Were you actually a fan of Captain Scarlet?"
Well I was not realy a fan of Captain Scarlet but I was one of the Thunderbirds. I was given the nick name Captain Scarlet some time ago when I was DJing at a club in Blackpool frequented by rockers who loved to end the night with, of all things, the theme music to Thunderbirds. One day I was caught wearing a baseball cap with "Captain" ritten on it hence the nick name. If that isn't inough have you noticed the page name "cptscarlettandmrron". By the weirdest coincidence the owner of the nightclub was called Ron! So we were known by some as "Cpt. Scarlett and The Mr Ron".
