The Crackity Split Gang (CSG) was formed in late 1993 by members of the infamous Boone, NC bands No Reason Why and Psycho Acoustic Research and Development. For nearly three years, CSG caused outbreaks of tinnitus at bars and clubs all over NC. From Boone to Wilmington ears rang! So loud was CSG that after a second show at the Cave in Chapel Hill the band was told not to bother and call back to book another gig. Unfazed, the band went on to play in Boone at Klondike Cafe, Greensboro at the Turtle Club and both locations of Somewhere Else Tavern, Hight Point at Triple Bs (what a great place), Chapel Hill at Local 506 (countless times) , Raleigh at the Brewery, Wilmington at Orton's, and many more.
In late 1994, CSG spent a long day at Yellow House in Chapel Hill, NC recording 7 songs for an EP that were eventually self released as a cassette. A 7" (yellow vinyl) single was self released in 1995 and oddly received a favorable blurb in Billboard Magazine.
