what do we do? diy craft nights, crafternoons, workshops,Craftea Parties and craft markets. We have a selection of tutors and great designer makers which we promote through the Craft Guerrilla. who are we? a collective of designer makers based in east London. We now have two more sister armies in the UK: Edinburgh and Brighton! Our D.I.Y. craft events are no ordinary craft events...it's not a glue and sparkles outfit though we do like twinkly things and free form craft is A-O.K.!There are lots of pub based craft events that bring creativity to the forefront but we're the original people that brought you ready to make D.I.Y. craft packs with easy to follow instructions, all materials included to get you craft working and a swinging dose of DJ's thrown into the mix to get those knitting needles groovin! We want to make it as easy and painless as possible. Craft is for everyone and should be readily available! That's why we have our "Classes for the Masses" one off workshops. Learn a new craft skill like: needle felting, crochet, knitting, embroidery, sewing and more. Our d.i.y. craft events and workshops are ready for you to pop in and start making! *Craft packs available to purchase for a small fee. Free entry. "Now that times are tougher we know just how much you're tightening the purse strings so come along and learn to make your very own fabulous gifts" and it ties in with the whole Make Do & Mend ethos which we absolutely LOVE. We want people to be more self sufficient, re use, recycle and up-cycle more rather then buying and binning. We tutt tutt all those big chain shops that mass produce cheap items with cheap unfair labour. We're waging war on mass produced tat...ratt-a-tat-tatt! what's coming up? Saturday 14th November Countdown to Christmas "Crafternoon" at the Old Queens Head Essex Rd. Islington London Our monthly MAKE YOUR OWN Saturday featuring very special guests: Mrs. Bears Swap Shop- a make do and mend cloths swapping extravaganza plus the Craftivist Collective will be hosting a mini workshop on Climate change and CRAFT! Who I'd like to meet:

The East London Craft Guerrilla is a group of independent Crafts People, Artists, Designers Makers of quality hand made goods. The aim of The Craft Guerrilla army is to join forces with other creative individuals and set up craft events in vacant or unused venues and associate with "friendly" businesses and other Craft groups.Share our resources and web traffic so everyone benefits. The Craft Guerrilla army is taking on the world for a better hand made existence! We've had enough of soulless, mass produced tat and so has the average consumer.High Street beware because we're the new kids on the block! The Craft Guerrilla was born out of a shared idealism with regeneration, recycling, sharing of knowledge and the revaluation of the hand made movement at its heart. We want to show people the true meaning and value of quality hand crafted designer goods through our ethos and principals of cooperation, collaboration and experience gained by working within a creative community. "We're an independent craft group run by designer makers for designer makers! We believe that art and craft should be promoted and encouraged no matter people's expertise, knowledge, education or social standing. Creativity is fun.We like fun.We like parties too. Sharing knowledge is liberating and promotes creativity. We too want to learn as well as pass on our knowledge. That's why we've started our D.I.Y. craft events! Also it gives us a chance to spin some tunes with our DJ-ing alter egos!!! Mass produced items are unoriginal, uninspiring, dull and unfair as most workers get a raw deal. Badly paid and kept in a cycle of poverty. You know who you are...nasty multi million dollar companies...shame on you! That's why we make our own and why we want to offer shoppers guilt free, gorgeous, quality, designer hand made items at our craft markets. Also it's not all about selling. We want to teach you just how great it is to make them too. Deborah said: "when people get stuck in and realise just how much hard work goes into making hand made items they gain not only a skill they can take away and use but also an understanding of their value..." We love working with other creative people. Working with in a creative community is inspiring and fruitful for all involved! We like to bounce ideas off other like minded people. Strength in numbers. That's why we started the Craft Guerrilla. Want to know more? Want to join the revolution? visit www.craftguerrilla.com and read our manifesto, meet our members and see what we do!" X Deborah, Lisa, Ellen and Louise
