Interests

  • General

Crafts (sewing, crochet, cross-stitch, painting, drawing, floral arranging, etc.), writing, word games (Literati anyone?), travel, gardening, and watching sports -- Formula 1, boxing, gymnastics and figure skating. I collect Snowbabies and Swarowski crystal as well as Father Christmas', teddy bears, and miniature tea sets. I love tropical fish, Elmo and Eeyore.
  • Music

I have a wide range of music that I like to listen to from soft rock, 80s, country, oldies, punk and so on. On my list of favorites are Barry Manilow, Wham!, Prozzak, the Kaiser Chiefs and the BeeGees.
  • Movies

My favorite movies are probably musicals. My mom liked them so I started watching them when I was fairly young and impressionable. My favorite musical is probably "Singing in the Rain" followed by "Fiddler on the Roof" and "South Pacific". My mom's favorite was "The Sound of Music" and we watched it every time it came on TV, we eventually got the video of it then she could watch it whenever she wanted. Some of the non-musical movies that I really like are "The Lost Boys", "Breakfast at Tiffanys" and "Rebel Without a Cause".
  • Television

Couplings (UK), Conan O'Brien, Carson Daly (I'm one of his thousands of friends! LOL!), Avitar, New Amsterdam, American Idol, Sesame Street (I LOVE ELMO!!!!) and just about every show on Home & Garden TV (yes, I'm a closet wanna-be interior designer).
  • Books

When I was a child my favorite books included "Heidi", "Harold and the Purple Crayon", "Where the Wild Things Are", and anything to do with Nancy Drew, the Bobbsey Twins and Trixie Belden. As I got into high school my tastes turned to stuff that was a bit more mature and my favorite authors included Judith Krantz, Pat Booth, and John Jakes (I actually read all of the Kent Family Chronicles in about three months when I was in 7th grade). Since then I've added Nelson DeMille, Brian Jacques and Phillipa Gregory to my list of favorite authors. I love all things Civil War and Elizabeth I. My favorite cartoons are Rose is Rose, the Far Side and Calvin and Hobbes.
  • Heroes

I guess my hero is my mom. She was a fighter through and through -- from making sure my sister and I got what we were supposed to and didn't take any crap about stuff to her battle with illness the last 10 years of her life. I miss her like crazy most of the time and I am glad that the last two years of her life we had a much better relationship than previously and that she'd learned how to say "I love you" (even if it did take me moving away from home!).

About me:

..
Softkey Leftsoftkey Right

I am a 36 year old stay at home mom. I live in south west New Hampshire with my 12 year old daughter and our cat, Amber -- or SRB (Self Righteous Brat!).

Let's see ... my latest addictions have been Jawbreaker on my Ipaq and playing with images in Paint Shop Pro 9. My other addiction is playing City of Heroes and City of Villains. My new computer is up and running smoothly with a gig of ram in it. I have been very happily playing my games again. I have so many toons across the various servers on both CoH and CoV.

.. ..

Who I'd like to meet:

I'm single mom living in NH. I have one daughter (who is slightly off her rocker as the video above will testify to!), a very bratty cat and an adorable guinea pig named Dusty. I work as an editor, publisher, graphic designer and web site designer as well as freelance writer. I like writing, computers, games (especially word games), gardening, travel, crafts, sports and music. I work part-time with a flexible schedule and have weekends off.
