Craig Collins grew up in the small, blue collar town of Blairsville, nestled in the North Georgia Mountains. He has been playing music and singing since the tender age of ten. His musical mentor was his uncle, Randall Collins, a world-renowned fiddler who toured with many of the bluegrass and country greats.
While playing in local bands during his school years, Craig's larger-than-life stage presence began to develop, augmenting his early flair for songwriting. Craig recorded his first four-song demo of self-penned tunes in Nashville in 1993. Soon after, he was signed to an independent record deal with Seals and Starbuck Records. Label President, Chuck Seals, who wrote the popular country song Crazy Arms implemented a tour for the new artist gaining Craig exposure in 44 states. This included opening for Blackhawk and Neal McCoy.
Returning to Georgia, Craig played with popular Atlanta-based bands such as The Tyler Wails Band. He performed with Vern Gosdin, as well as Davis Daniel, and opened for acts such as Bill Anderson and David Allan Coe.
In 2002, Craig returned to the studio, this time as a solo artist to record the album, It's All In Your Head, having written eight of the ten tracks. The album showcases his chilling baritone voice that puts an unforgettable exclamation point on his talented songwriting. Known for his crowd pleasing, get up and holler live shows, Craig continues to be in high demand by many club owners, festivals, and theater venues around the country.
Away from music, Craig is no stranger to the challenges and struggles of the working class. He knows what it is like to get up early, work hard and save enough money to start your own business. And, he has lived through the heartache of seeing that dream fall apart. The songs he writes are real, and his delivery is unforgettable. Craig Collins is a blue-collar hero, destined for super stardom.
