My name is Craig and I play acoustic and electric guitar, dobro, lap steel, pedal steel and mandolin. I work as a producer, co-writer, session musician, & teacher. I love jazz, bluegrass, vintage rhythm & blues, "old" country, classic rock and any strange combinations of the aforementioned styles.
Since moving to the Los Angeles area in 2005, I have performed as the guitarist and dobro player for americana band Cliff Wagner & The Old 7. We were featured on national television in the FOX premier of The Next Great American Band where we placed 7th. Prior to the show, The Old 7 performed throughout the SW at festivals such as The Colorado River Bluegrass Festival, Parker, and Yuma bluegrass festivals.
I've also done some eclectic studio work including the Nintendo Wii video game release Balls of Fury as well as the TV shows Cold Case, Close to Home, and and Discovery Channel's Iditarod: Toughest Race On Earth. I've also played on a few films such as, Poison Ivy: The Secret Society (IV), Disfigured, and So Life Goes On, and Sticks and Stones.
Also, I was a Guitarist for the L.A. Premiere of the musical tick, tick...BOOM!and have appeared on over 15 independent records by L.A. singer/songwriters.. In addition to live performances at venues such as The Roxy, House of Blues, Ford Amphitheater, Viper Room, Hotel Cafe, Echoplex and The Mint, I've done sessions at some of LA's best studios including Capitol Records, Westlake Audio, The Record Plant, and Sagen Sound.
NEWS:The session work for composer Mateo Messina (Juno) for a new film. Will keep you posted on what happens with that project.
I have new LAP STEEL project called "Fred Heffelin III". We will be performing soon around LA.
