as a child I was introduced to the piano at the young age of 5. i took lessons and learned music theory until i was 16. along the way I played in front of a lot of different people, and i developed a desire to become a musician.
when i was 10 i saw a music video in a big store in texas from poison called ‘nothing but a good time’, and from that moment i knew i wanted to be a rock star. i began begging my parents to let me switch instruments from piano to guitar, but to no avail. i was told that i would have to keep my piano lessons up for several more years before i could learn to play the guitar. a great idea as it turned out, i learned a lot about music over the next 6 years, and when i was 14 i finally started taking guitar lessons. after a year of lessons i started teaching myself new techniques and scales and finally began writing my own music.
when i was 21 i met a great guy name Kevin Hahn at my university and we started my first band, Brokenwater Rhythm. we had our first show when i was 22 and that rekindled the fire in my heart to be a rock and roll star. after 2 years and a demo cd i graduated from university and parted with the band.
i went on to play a little country music for a few months for fun, and then i moved to Vienna, with only an acoustic guitar, some clothes, and a few hundred euros to my name. after 11 months here not much was happening for me on the music scene, until i got a call from a friend telling me she knew a band that needed a bassist and a singer and if i wanted to try out with her. although i had never seriously played bass before i figured i might as well give it a shot, and try to put my creative energy to use.
The next week I joined the Viennese band Lox-P which combines elements of rock, metal, dance, incustrial, and pop. I still play with Lox-p to this day, however I have recently switched to guitar, as we are moving in a new direction with 2 guitars and synth bass.
Through Lox-P I met Stefan Weigl who mentioned his desire to start a hard rock band, which I agreed would be a great idea. However, it was not to be for a while. After playing with Lox-p for about 8 months I hooked up with a guy named Fabian Patzak, who is a sort of singer songwriter type that writes meaningful lyrics and creative and experimental music. He already had a few musicians so I stepped in once again on bass, but as guitar is my natural instrument, I couldn't quite get into it. Just as I was thinking about moving in another direction the band approached me about moving to acoustic guitar, and I stuck with it!
Not long after joining with the Trainbrakes, Stefan Weigl got in contact with me and informed me that he had found some guys who were ready to start a band. We met the next week and founded the first constellation of SUNERAL, a viennese Metalcore band. After 3 singers and over 70 shows, SUNERAL is still growing stronger and stronger.
I have recently joined up with the band OK King as lead guitarist, and look forward to moving in an alternative direction once again.
We used to be called "Mumrik" that was looking for a singer and now we finally found a singer and the band name became STM since we are working together at a distance of 6000miles from Leeds, UK to Kyoto, Japan. We have uploaded 3 songs now. Check out how it works.
