Craig Owen Jenkins currently calls Prince Albert, Saskatchewan home, but has spent the last 7 years touring professionally in western Canada and northwestern US, as a solo act and with a number of successful bands and artists including O’Shamus, The Rawling Brothers, Ben Beveridge, Danni Tibbo, The Raven River Band, Carson Cole, Kim Felt, Tracy Riley, Ben Crane and Buck Star. In demand as a touring and recording musician, Craig shifted gears in 2006 and turned his efforts toward a solo CD venture featuring his original compositions.
The songs are rooted in a folk rock vein and have an edgy groove that captures the ear. Saskatchewan’s musical landscape is gaining national attention and Jenkins stands out - a nonconformist who is obviously doing what he was born to do. Craig’s debut solo project is co-produced / engineered by Rich MacFarlane of Richard MacFarlane Productions, a sought after studio musician who tours as a guitarist in Brad Johner’s back up band.
Jenkins’ hook-laden original tunes are a blend of roots and rock that reveal a unique style reminiscent of early Neil Young, who happens to be among his biggest influences. Craig's confident, resolute strides along his own musical path could appear to some as indifference to popular opinion.
