About Craig Westwood

Bios really ain't my thing but if you have to know I've been actively writing, recording and performing since 1989. Despite the fact that I've pretty much been working in the same day job for the entire duration of my quasi musical career I've still managed to be a part of some reasonably OK Australian bands (Christbait and Dern Rutlidge). When I am not making beer out in my beloved shed I've been known to involve myself with some other bands/projects such as Sealfinger, Youngbreeder, Budd as well as being a solo artist hence this personalised site. I'm not what you would call a popular artist, financially successful, critically acclaimed or even very good which some of my early day peers have managed to achieve and continue to maintain to this very day. I remain largely unknown and I figure my output is pretty hit n miss (more miss) and can vary in style and sound which kinda makes it hard for fans of one particular release to digest any of my other releases. I guess I'm hard to pin down which could possibly explain why I have pretty much remained under the radar....realistically it could also be that I'm actually pretty shit and just can't take the hint!? It hasn't all been bad though... I've managed to play some big festivals, toured locally and internationally to a limited degree, met with and shared the stage with some truly amazing people and artists over the years. If I could say anything about my relationship with my music and songwriting is that I liken it to an alcoholic who simply can't put the bottle down. I'm currently planning to have the new budd CD out by mid 2009 as well as continuing with work on the Christbait box set and possibly 2 new solo albums.
