I don't read that much poetry as I like to experience that LIVE but my key influences as a writer come mostly from Film, Music lyrics and the language used in everyday life. I am one of lifes obsearvers or I just like sitting anywhere with my bag and check the local talent out. Any excuse will do!!!

HARRY POTHEAD POETRY has moved into his new premises in North Bristol UK. Yay! Posted 16 hours ago view more
About me: Harry Potter OotP Sneak Peak - HBO
HARRY POTHEAD POETRY was launched by Craig Wilson, a Bristol UK based writer & performance poet, in late April 2009 as a bit of a laugh really! A writer and poet since 1994, publisher since 2000, live act since 2002, recording artist since 2005 (check out www.myspace.com/highperformancepoetry), MC and HPP events since 2006 (including The Hatchet Open Mic in 2007) whilst music was added in 2007/8 with the good wizards Frichi & Blind Truth Studios (see top friends). Commisions such as the 2 poems that adorn The Hatchet Inns walls have also been undertaken for their 400 year anniversary - yes it is Bristols oldest licensed pub! Craig is a well known character in Bristol who loves the fact that he remains underground, often performing for free at open mic events in the South West & London. A bit of a wonderer who doesn't take shit from no one and wears his glasses, like Harry Potter, with pride, all topped off with short dark hair but minus the scar!!!

CANNABIS: Craig has been an advocate of cannabis over alcahol for many years now due to its creative properties and the fact that smoking weed / hash rarely gets you into fist fights like the olde booze can!!! However like with any drug, it should be used in moderation and NOT abused. Scientific research suggests that the THC in weed (The chemical that gets you HIGH) has gone up in the last 15 years by a huge amount, decreasing the anti psychotic element that natural cannabis provides its users. This means that the weed has become stronger but if abused can leave its users suffering from psychiatric illnesses such as psychosis which is not very pleasant and can interfere negatively on the all important creative process. It is recommended by Craig that Hash should be used and that Skunk Weed should be avoided where possible.

CONSPIRACY THEORIES: Craig Wilson loves them: Area 51, UFOs, Diana & Dodi, JFK, 9/11: You name it Craig knows about it but some are more believable than others. The Conspiracy Theory that Craig had been working on in The Cospiracy Trilogy poetry book (released by HPP in October 2009) discusses Gordon Brown's involvement with a certain Daniel Morris (QPR FC case 2006) after Craig recieved a phonecall from Gordon Brown whilst Craig was living in Glastonbury Town in late 2007 after a call was made to 999 regarding certain individuals possible involvement from that town in regards to the snatch of Maddie McCann (The Glastonbury Poetry Slam was held on the same date she went missing and certain key locals were NOT present at the event). The death of John Smith, the former Labour Party leader, Diana & Dodi (Harrods was informed), 9/11, the QPR case (the football club also recieved a visit) & Swine Flu via the Mexican Cociane cartels and the Cocaine comming out of Glastonbury Town have all been linked into the conspiracy theory that, in the end, Gordon Brown is BENT! Dodgy economics with his 'friend' Fred THE SHRED Goodwin of RBS fame, selling our gold for a pittance after 9/11 then putting the cash into stocks and shares whilst GB's links with rogue secret service agents such as Alan Gold who was spotted talking to locals in Glastonbury Town in late 2007 made for something so interesting, even the Counter Terrorist Police, UK Special Branch and The Press had a look into it! Watch this space for any future developments...LET THE ARTISTIC REVOLUTION BEGIN!
Who I'd like to meet: Many people from all walks of life, good wizards & supreme witches but especially other quality poets who have a wicked side! Also bands that value lyricism and sound people who enjoy words, performance and getting high! Also fellow motor racing nut cases, DJs, writers, artists, actors, actresses, novelists, comedians and film makers are welcome here. Please feel free to comment on my words and please buy the books and CDs. HIGH PERFORMANCE POETRY is for everyone (well almost!). By Craig Wilson: Globe Project Vol. 1 CD (2005), Poetry Trilogy Vol. 1 book (1994-2003), Poetry Trilogy Vol. 2 book (2003-2006): Trilogy Volume 1 - FIRST (1994-1999), 1999 (1999-2001) & Penfold Collection (2001-2003). The wind blew cold And the leaves began to pack their bags away. The ground with its spongy feel of ice Kept all the rats and mice at bay.
The magik fairy, With his rubber boots and dress Kept the “hounds of baskerville” From creating another, shitty mess.
The cabin created a look of empty darkness As the pumpkin heads began to fall. It looked confusing, abandoned, As if no one was ever home at all.
Deep inside you could hear the pleasant of a healing whisper As the elf woke up And began his attempted movement With “the feeble” of a crawl.
Bilbo sat in his repeated, cornered perch And peered upon the childlike elf. Remembering, Twenty-five years ago, He was peering at himself.
The sweats would come, The slime from deep within, The screaming pain from moving marrow, But, the fucking demon would not win.
The manik, magik fairy, The watcher, The guardian the gate With the help of earth mothers magik Will protect the purity and innocence of the elf And prevent the filling up of the demons Full of empty plate.
With hope and faith Healing time for all the lonely, frightened elves Will never come too late.

It must be strange To find a watcher rearrange his day To solely seek the elf And help him find his way, To focus only on the elf, To care and give a moment of himself, To stand in darkness and put a light upon the elf.
It might bring fear. It might bring pain and ache. Its’ simple goal is for you to take a fearless look inside And see the wonders that you hide, But not so well, For I can see the wishing well And feel your morning tide!
A gentle soul is buried deep With a rage and anger it fights to keep. The demon death, it won't give up. It fights to never sleep.
It will not win. A letting go will take its place again. The elf will feel and see his soul Without the weight of his own control. He’ll see and feel a humble glow That comes from our within.
The watcher simply said, “This elf of mine won’t end up dead! I'll guard the gate with no mistake As demons seek a second helping on their plate. I’ll spew the rhyme and seal their time and fate! I’ll watch the quiet elf and wait!”
After you've finished here, you may like to hear this poem sung on myspace...
Poem 162 of 230, WalkaboutsVerse (please see my blog): TEES TO TYNE: FIRST IMPRESSIONS - SUMMER 2001
Where traditions are not so rare; Sea, country and works scent the air; A multitude of monuments, Planted tubs and patterned pavements.
The longish pedestrian malls; The remnants of defensive walls; Historic buildings are a gauge Of the respect for heritage.
Wheat, rape and pines in the fields; Estuaries guarded by shields; Long sandy beaches and wide scenes; Romantic-ruin go-betweens.
Rivers in parts licked by trees, Or fringed by boat clubs, wharfs, gantries, And crossed by practical delights - Varied spans, forming pleasing sights.
Fine churches headed at Durham; Football kits ad infinitum; Kept castles - one for study; Masonry behind masonry.
And, with moulding-works out that way, It’s somewhere for a longer stay..?
I know they are only made of simple, fairy words and rhyme And stumble out of an old and twisted, mumbled piece of fairy mind. Read them with a care you never knew was part of you. Read the black and white and read the ancient, secret, magik, fairy part That might get through to you.
It's hard to open up an elfish mind, Let alone try to touch a fearful, elfish heart. It's hard to let the poems in to find a tiny, magik way to start. The fairy magik is really there when you open up your elfish soul And let another fairy poem in. You will crave to lose some more control.
The fear is there. The fear will go away. These words are words for you alone. Earth mother wisely slipped them into me just for you today To place them into your nervous, elfish home.
You deserve to feel her magik gift today When a fairy soul will give away with love And touch you deep inside With a softened, silky, gentle, magik, fairy glove. Your elfish wish will be to never, fucking hide!
These whispers of precious, magik words Are meant from me to only you In hopes to share our inner fears away For a tiny moment of our earth mothers’ gentle time of day. All elves and fairies will once again Safely enjoy their humble play and win And let all their freedoms and love come in To never, ever need to ever run away inside themselves again!
I could be wrong and if I am I share to a boyish, elfish poet A magik piece of a twisted, abstract song And a gobble of a fairy rhyme to him. I hope to never hurt him with my humble song. I hope he will always find a way to let me in . . . . . . . So I am also, not so all-alone.

zach likes men Returning World War II aircraft engine mechanics coined the term, 'rock 'n' roll". Since most military aircraft engines of this time had a part called a "rocker arm" that had a roller attached to one or both ends to open and close the intake and exhaust valves of an engine, and that this part could be seen when the engine was running with the "rocker arm cover" removed, the mechanics could see this part: "rocking and rolling". An engine that was running well was said to be, "rockin an' rollin". In the 1940's, when the mechanics had leave and could find a place to drink and dance, those G.I.'s who could dance fast and well were said to be able to "rock and roll", just like the fast operating engine part that they were all so familiar with. When these GI's came home at the wars end, they brought the term with them and applied it to the new music that combined Country music, Popular and Western Swing with Rhythm and Blues. The term "Rock 'n Roll" was born from aircraft engines, greasy hands and talented feet from those who survived the war. KALVIN F IS A CUMBUCKET
