Based at the Hind in Cramlington, Northumberland, we are one of the longest running folk clubs in the Country.
We meet every Tuesday starting at 8:00 pm. The club often has guest performers - see our website for details. Guest nights are non ticket - pay on the door. All other Tuesdays are singers nights.
Click here to join our mailing list and be kept up to date with guests and special events.
We have always provided a wide variety of music and styles from traditional and contemporary folk to blues and bluegrass. If you are in the area please drop in, you may be pleasantly surprised. Everyone is welcome whether to perform or just to enjoy the music.
You can find Reviews of some of our nights at our website.
Note for artistes: If you wish to enquire about playing at the club then please contact us through our website. Requests made via our MySpace will not be answered.
Looking forward to performing at the club in a couple weeks! I'll be playing a mix of my own original songs and some traditional material from my new album, Across The Troubled Wave, to be released this July. Check out my website: www.davidferrard.com.
After you've finished here, you may like to hear this poem sung on myspace...
Poem 2 of 230, WalkaboutsVerse (please see my blog): WALKABOUT WITH MY PEN
Once drove an old sedan, up north, From a place in Sydney to Cairns; Then to Kuranda I went forth, By train, to look without set plans.
I browsed through the trendy market, With fresh fruits of tropical kind; Walked to the creek through lush thicket - Nature’s hand giving peace of mind.
I dined in a scenic cafe; Then, outside, as I wrote for yen, Some passing Kooris called-out: “Hey, You go walkabout with your pen.”
Request or question, I don’t know - Assured voices, elderly men. That’s now several years ago, And I’ve seen the world - with my pen.
Hi, To everyone at the club and those who came to the gig last Tuesday. As usual it was a pleasure to play to people who know and enjoy their music. Lets do it all again soon. Regards Phil and the Caffs.
Just have to say a BIG THANK YOU for having us last night. It was especially nice to hear some folk singing along on Ne Oublie even though they'd never heard it before. You have a great crowd and we'll definitely be making a return visit some time early in 2009. We'll arrive a little earlier next time, though :>)
