WHAT IS WORSHIP?
That's the question this Louisiana-based quartet, Crave, chooses to answer with every lyric flinging from the stage. With roots deeply planted in local church ministry, the music has become secondary to the vision, TRUE WORSHIP. "We just write about the love affair we share with God every day " says keyboardist/guitarist, Joshua Gourgues, "There's something about being able to express the exact emotions felt for our Creator, that compels us to continue to do exactly what He's asking of us, instead of finding ourselves writing albums just to sell." But selling has become a constant bi-product of their mission, with merch sales soaring through the roof at events. "We've noticed that, if we will make ourselves available to the call, God will take care of the rest," says frontman/guitarist, Ross Hebert, "I'm a PK (preacher's kid), and I can remember a saying my dad had while I was growing up...'If God "orders" it, He pays'; and that has been evident to us on the road. We often see God provide our finances moreso via 'love offerings & merch sales' than in any other way. God has a way of allowing our faith in Him, to provide for our needs." Signing with artist management, 220 Entertainment Group, in 2007, the guys are hard at work recording a new album. Bassist, Joseph Babin, has this to say about the new album ... "Some guys get in the studio and push hard to write songs that will scream to the public 'BUY ME', we're a different breed. We just write what's in our souls, and let God decide what's capable of selling." "He's been trust-worthy so far, why not let Him run with it?" chuckles Babin. But what makes these guys "tick" ?
Drummer, Jason Williams (not the basketball whiz lol), says, " It's a constant, daily walk with God that has brought us this far. One thing we've learned in our years of music has been, that regardless of how monotonous it may seem, you've got to constantly be reminding yourself that it's all about Him. It's become so easy in our culture to want to call a good thing God, when in fact it may not have been Him at all. That's where having a relationship with Him steps in to bring clarity and security to our lives." Focused and determined, these guys are busy tracking a new EP, scheduled to be released late 2009. Keep your eyes and ears open for news of upcoming dates. Also, be sure to check back often for regular video blogs and new track clips!
