[crave]: are an edgy 4-piece modern rock outfit that take their music seriously. Together since mid-2004, this time has seen them record a 4-track ep; storm the famed ICC studios in Eastbourne to record their debut album 'carve'(Pssst in just 6 days!); gig relentlessly up and down Ireland; perform various on-air acoustic sessions; and they have just released their much anticipated second album entitled 'Waiting Games'.
Its been a crazy ride for the lads, who won Sonya Mac'sLocally Grown competition, gaining valuable airtime on Northern Ireland's biggest station - Cool FM - with their rock anthem 'Sorry'.
[crave]: have been circuiting Ireland's premier live music venues including the Limelight and Spring and Airbrake as part of national festivals, rocked their way into the hugely popular Battle of the Bands final in Basement Jack's, and reached the all Ireland Final of the Global Battle of the Bands in Belfast's Empire. They've played Ireland's finest Christian music festivals: Summer Madness three times and the Ignite Festival three times, Tara Music Festival, and Greenbelt 2006 and 2007; plus performing live on Sky TV. With a bunch of live radio sets, [crave]: is a band to catch in person when and where you can... Now with fresh blood in the band - in the shape of stellar guitarist Andy Bell - [crave]: have a renewed energy and vision for the band in 2008 that demands the ardent music lover to come and check them out!!
But hey, dont take it from us... here's what critics say about the band!!!
'Driving guitars for the open road' (Alternative Ulster)
'Destined to become a classic' (Cross Rhythms)
'Carve is an accurately chiselled piece of modern rock with exemplary production and musicianship that is tighter than Rick Waller's Speedos and definitely more alluring!' Adam Harrold (Rock Something)
'Guitars turned up to eleven, this band combine high-energy rock with strong melodies and passionate heartfelt honest lyrics.. definitely one to watch in 2006!' (Premier Music)
'The pinnacles of multi layered rock excellence.. a band we are going to be hearing much more of.' Tony Cummings (Cross Rhythms)
'They've got power in their music like Creed and Foo Fighters but have something new to bring to the table which rocks!!" Carl Kinsman (Cool 97.4FM)
Through their melodies and lyrics [crave]: aim to point listeners towards the purpose driven life found in Jesus Christ.
