Crawfish Gordon was formed in the early months of 2006 by high school friends Owen Miller, Aaron Lowrance and Jonathan Cocker. They remained nameless for almost a year until the band roster was set in stone. Crawfish Gordon is a seven-piece band consisting of drums, percussion, two guitars, bass, sax and singer, all of whom hail from the Chattanooga, TN area. Guitar player Aaron Lowrance, bass player Ethan Tennant and drummer Matt Flynn all played in the band Tennant Circle together in the years prior to the formation of Crawfish Gordon. Aaron also played bass for Atomic eyes for a short time, and played several USO shows in Japan. Also at about the same time rhythm guitar player Jonathan Cocker and singer Owen Miller played the bar scene around Statesboro, Georgia to make money while attending college. Saxophone player J.P. Stovall and drummer Adam Hunt played together as well in the time prior to CG’s formation, but it wasn't until the three former bands united that Crawfish Gordon was formed.
The band has been making a name for itself in the Chattanooga area over the last few years with great live shows and a growing compilation of original music. An album is currently in the works, though no release date has been set.
CG’s music has been heard on four different radio stations in Chattanooga in the past year or so, including Rock 105, the old 96.5 the Mountain, 88.1 NPR, and 91.5 the wawl, and have played in several great venues around the city such as Midtown Music Hall, Rhythm and Brews, the Local, The Walden Club, and they also keep busy by playing select private parties.
