It's been a long time coming. Jonny Johnson and Packy Lundholm met through a tangled web of mutual friends one fateful night six years ago, a night that would come to be a turning point in both of their musical journeys. Immediately the spirit was alive, the communication was direct, and the ghetto-rigged basement amplifiers were crackling with an entirely new kind of energy. The dudes were on fire.
Since then these freaks have come together in various combinations to rock high school gymnasia, serenade hip weddings, and slave over their gear, ever digging for the next nugget of gold.
Academic and geographical constraints would keep JJ and Packymayonaise from making music Alone Together for most of the last few years, but the time was nigh to reunite. When Jonny stepped off that train and into 707 High Studio, it was as if that basement jam had never ended. So they got right to work. Five and a half days later the two came downstairs with a new fire, a new album, and a new band.
Crazy Face. It's a deep and scary mind space, teetering on the brink of destruction. It's the shadowy woman who dares you to face who you really are and what you really fear. It's a raging circus of dark emotions and bright colors. It's comedy in its purest form.
We don't know what's happening in this music, and we're not about to try to figure it out. We're just gonna keep doing it and see where it goes. Don't expect any consistency from song to song, just expect to be entertained and maybe a little scared. That's right where we want you.
