Underground producer/rapper C-Enes started out slow in 2003 with a laptop and an illegal copy of FL Studio 4, but was not faltered by any critics laying harsh criticism for his use of stock FL 808 drum kits. These collections of drum kits which were frequently used by C-Enes would eventually lead to the rise of the infamous "Southern-style" beats most glorified by producers such as Mannie Fresh and Three 6 Mafia. After two years of using FL Studio and exhausting every sound available in it, he was able to purchase a copy of Reason 3.0 and begin work on his more serious projects. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
After only one year of experimenting with the new program and newly acquired equipment, C-Enes was able to make a name for himself as a serious producer. After releasing a snippet of "Club Escaflowne", which was one of his first beats with the new software and hardware, local MC's were amazed at the new sound of the Escaflowne sample. Many producers have used this sample before, yet none have flipped it the way C-Enes has. By chopping the sample and lowering the pitch, he was able to completely change what the original song was intending to do. Receiving much praise for this beat, C-Enes began to delve into his work in order to keep his small fanbase. Inspired by Dr. Dre and the Neptunes, C-Enes was able to craft a unique sound which combines the orchestration of a Dr. Dre beat with the unorthodox "feel" of a beat from the Neptunes. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Every beat being put forth into the public eye by C-Enes has been carefully scrutinized and inspected for quality by the man himself. "I believe if you put out a beat because you think it is hot, you are obviously going too fast," comments the producer, "a simple melody could be hot but what I'm going for is something memorable with depth to it.". C-Enes has also said that a mixtape is due out from him soon. "I think it's time to shut people down on both fronts, (laughs) but that's just me. [I] Could have been a doctor." --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
