Why spoil the beauty of the Divine Creation? Just as the Lord has demonstrated Love and Compassion to us, we should "be as perfect as our Father in Heaven is perfect" and demonstrate our Love and compassion to all the living universe. The video below provides 30 reasons to be a vegetarian.
Creating and playing music, yoga, dancing, reading, working out, beach, playing soccer (on local men's over 40 teams), messing with new software ...
..
Superman, Casablanca, Dune, Brazil, Kundun, Circle of Iron, more ...

Washington Week, NOW!, Bill Moyers Journal, Countdown, Law & Order (original and CI), The Daily Show, MLS soccer, Battlestar Galactica, Smallville, Medium, more ...
books on biographies, meditation, psychology, software or science stuff ...
Originally from Connecticut, we moved to West Palm Beach back in 1964 when i was only 10. Have a very smart, 21-year-old daughter who now lives in New York City furthering her education and artistic ambitions. So it's just God and me ... for now.

These past few year i continue to take time to deeply analyze and simplify my life. Life takes many twists and turns. I am working to keep to the higher Path and falter less.
Primarily i'm an artist with a canvas of music, graphics and animation (some of which is displayed here on the left side), video, poetry and words, websites, and other such media.
Music wise i've taken time to rethink what i want to accomplish with my art. Having decided on the nom de plume Amritzar, i have created the website Amritzar.com plus three music pages here on MySpace with the Spirit version at the forefront along with Amritzar - Folk and Amritzar - Lyrical. My thoughts on my art continually evolve as i follow my bliss and focus on new creations that elevate the consciousness.

Spend time in meditation and working to raise my spiritual consciousness. A bit of time volunteering and helping others. Physically workout a couple times a week and live on a simple lacto-vegetarian diet. In fact, i have been a vegetarian since 1973 out of compassion for those we share this creation with. Click here to see my blog entry for more on the vegetarian life.

i believe we are all the children of the One Father/Mother God. Am allergic to extreme fundamentalists of any religion or creed preferring the attitude of live and let live. The only fanaticism taking place in this world should be our divine intoxication induced by the sweet nectar streaming down from heaven above causing us to be so imbued with Love — we can think of nothing else. I do not think the end of the world is at hand, but instead a new age is coming filled with hope and peace.
BLOGS: a complete list of my blogs is available on my Amritzar website. Please click here to go to that page. Or if you subscribe to the blog, you will see a complete listing.
Though i have traveled around the U.S. and to the Bahamas and India, travel is not high on my list of to-dos. Currently, i prefer conversation over a cup o' joe or a nice walk in the park or on the beach. Find it rather pleasant ... simple ... smile and be happy!

Hmm ... i enjoy meeting genuine human beings. As the saying goes: To thy own self, be true. Especially those who have taken the time to dig deeper to the Root and work to make a life worthwhile. As a work in progress myself, i certainly do not expect perfection, but i would hope some focus in the direction of self-knowledge and God-realization is being exercised.

“Be like a river that flows
Silent in the middle of the night
Not fearing the dark of the night,
Reflecting any star that is in the sky.
And if the sky fills with clouds,
Clouds are water, like the river, so
Reflect them too with no regret In the silent depth.”

A Simple Thank-You, My Friend
Into the dim lit, bare walls of my world,
You entered, bringing light and life to me,
The vivid colors, painted with a swirl
Of wit and charm, of personality,
With tender care, you added comfort, warmth,
And images that line the now bright walls.
I look upon them fondly, bringing forth
A thankfulness that you walk in these halls
With me; our friendship has become a part
Of my world now; it has its special place,
Within my being, life, and in my heart,
Your name hangs right beside your smiling face.
Rememb'ring just how drab these walls had been,
I have to thank you for the light, my friend.
Have a Wonderful Week Ahead..

~ Leviticus 19: 2
Wisdom is necessary for all. Those who are clever need it far more, since an active mind, if not occupied with useful things, will busy itself with what is useless, curious, and pernicious; and just as the more fertile a field is, the crop of thorns and of thistles that it can produce, so an excellent intelligence becomes filled with fanciful notions, if it be not sown with seeds of wisdom and of virtue. So an active mind, if void of serious things, entangles itself utterly with vain, curious, and noxious thoughts, and becomes the cause of its own destruction.
A rational creature should be led, not by shouts, imprisonment, and blows, but by reason. Any other method is an insult to God, in whose image all men are made. To be the image of God is to represent the perfection of his Archetype. He should enslave himself to no creature, not even to his own flesh and blood.
God had made man in His own image and had given him a mind, in order that its proper nutrition might not be wanting to that mind. He divided each class of creatures into many species, that this visible universe might be a continual mirror of the infinite power, wisdom, and goodness of God, and that by its contemplation man might be compelled to marvel at the Creator, moved to recognise Him, and enticed to love Him, when the might, the beauty, and he sweetness that lie invisible in the abyss of the eternity shone out on all sides.
Happier a thousand times is the man who shall bear his soul in purity and cleanliness.
~ Comenius

Will is dynamic soul-force. Will, if it is rendered pure and irresistible, can work wonders. There is nothing impossible for a man of strong will to achieve in the world. The vast majority of persons have no consciousness of will or mind or intellect, though they talk much on “will and mind.” The will has become impure and weak through desires. When a desire is controlled, it becomes changed into will. The sexual energy, the muscular energy, anger, etc., are all transmuted into will-force when they are controlled. The fewer the desires, the stronger the will. The stronger the will, the quicker the realisation.
~ Swami Sivananda
In the movements of the soul the most important wheel is the will; while the weights are the desires and affections which incline the will this way or that. The escapement is the reason, which measures and determines what, where, and how far anything should be sought after or avoided.
Man is in himself nothing but a harmony. No matter how disorganised by his fall into sin, he can, through the grace of God and by certain methods, be restored again to harmony.
Man is the image of God. An image implies likeness, and that like rejoices in like.
~ Comenius
No one is so wild that he cannot be tamed, if he patiently turn his ear to instruction and knowledge.
~ The poet of Venusia
Truth is easily seen by those who love her, and can readily be found by those who seek her. She grants herself to the understanding, and those who wait before her door obtain her without trouble

Every man delights in harmony;
Man himself, externally and internally, is nothing but a harmony
Who does not take pleasure in a well-made man, an elegant horse, a beautiful portrait, or a charming picture?
This pleasure of the eye is very natural. Who is not affected by music? and why? Because a harmony of voices makes a pleasing consonance.
Every man rejoices in moderate heat, in moderate cold.
Even the virtues of others are a source of administration to some people.
~ John Amos Comenius

The life that we receive is not short, unless we make it so. We suffer from no lack of years, but carouse away those that are granted us. Life is long, if we do but know how to use it.
Our lives are sufficiently long, and, if we order them well, allow us to bring the greatest undertakings to completion
~ Seneca
I have found many men who are just in their dealings with men, but few who are just in their dealings with God. We daily lament our fate; but what does it matter how soon we quit this world, since we must certainly quit it one day or other? Life is long if it be full, and it becomes full if the spirit exert its power on itself; if it learn the secret of self-control.
Let us, therefore, deem that man one of the blest, who has used well the time allotted to him, no matter how short it may have been.
~ Seneca
“To take one example, Jesus Christ, our Lord, remained only thirty-three years on earth, and in that time completed the task of Redemption. This He undoubtedly did to prove that whatever length of life a man may enjoy, it is sufficient to serve him.”
~ Comenius

‘O my God, our intoxicated eyes have blurred our vision.
Our burdens have been made heavy, forgive us.
You are hidden, and yet from East to West You have filled the world with Your radiance.
Your Light is more magnificent than sunrise or sunset,
and You are the inmost ground of consciousness,
revealing the secrets we hold.
You are an explosive force causing our damned up rivers to burst forth.
You whose essence is hidden while Your gifts are manifest,
You are like water and we are like millstones.
You are like wind and we are like dust.
The wind is hidden while the dust is plainly seen.
You are the invisible spring and we are Your lush garden.
You are the Spirit of life and we are like hand and foot.
Spirit causes the hand to close and open.
You are intelligence; we are Your voice.
Your intelligence causes this tongue to speak.
You are joy and we are laughter,
for we are the result of the blessing of Your joy.
All our movement is really a continual profession of faith,
bearing witness to Your eternal power,
just as the powerful turning of the millstone professes faith in the river’s existence.
Dust settles upon my head and upon my metaphors,
for You are beyond anything we can ever think or say.
And yet, this servant cannot stop trying to express Your beauty,
in every moment, let my soul be Your carpet’

A butterfly hovers closely
And then quickly moves away,
Swiftly going where so ever
Her heart may freely say.
A butterfly lowers and rises
With the winds's gusty breath,
As if coupled within a dance
Of a loving tenderness.
The butterfly only knows
How it feels to have wings,
To kiss the petals of flowers
In such elegant flitterings.
To have but one moment
Of such an exquisite flight,
Would be like a dream
Where all seems so right.

Stars have too long been symbols of the unattainable.
They should not be so. For although our physical hands cannot reach them, we can touch them in other ways.
Let stars stand for those things which are ideal and radiant in life;
if we seek sincerely and strive hard enough, it is not impossible to reach them, even though the goals seem distant at the onset.
And how often do we touch stars?
When we find them close by in the shining light of great souls, the sparkling universe of humanity around us

There are three stages in the preparation for eternity: to know Oneself (and with Oneself all things); to rule Oneself, and to direct Oneself to God.
~ Comenius
To you then, O princes, my words are directed, so that you may learn wisdom and not transgress.
For they will be made holy who observe holy things in holiness, and those who have been taught them will find a defence.
Desire therefore my words; long for them and you shall be instructed.
Wisdom is radiant and unfading, and she is easily discerned by those who love her, and is found by those who seek her.
Therefore I prayed, and prudence was given me; I pleaded and the spirit of Wisdom came to me. I preferred her to scepter and throne, And deemed riches nothing in comparison with her, nor did I liken any priceless gem to her; Because all gold, in view of her, is a little sand, and before her, silver is to be accounted mire.
Beyond health and comeliness I loved her, And I chose to have her rather than the light, because the splendor of her never yields to sleep.
Yet all good things together came to me in her company, and countless riches at her hands; And I rejoiced in them all, because Wisdom is their leader, though I had not known that she is the mother of these.
Simply I learned about her, and ungrudgingly do I share- her riches I do not hide away; For to men she is an unfailing treasure; those who gain this treasure win the friendship of God, to whom the gifts they have from discipline commend them.
~ Wisdom of Solomon 6 & 7

The Dawn Comes
The dawn comes,
bearing new light into the world,
and my eye is blessed to receive it.
The dawn comes,
roses slowly opening,
heaven’s fragrance walks among us still.
The dawn comes,
trees stretch out their branches in welcome.
May my hand be turned to goodness this day.
The dawn comes,
and my heart begins to see:
this new day’s lesson is love.
