Biography
In November 1999 two friends (Taz Cebula and Nick Iliffe) from Northamptonshire, England formed a heavy alternative rock band named CREECH. six months later Tim O’neill joined as Bass player, the chemistry was right and they soon built a strong following.
In July 2001 CREECH. recorded their first six track EP. The EP debuted at number three in the local Virgin Charts. Later that year Tim left the band and Taz and Nick decided to move country. By Christmas 2002 they had shipped themselves and their equipment all the way round the world to Melbourne, Australia.
Once in Melbourne, Taz and Nick started looking for new members.
In 2002 Ron Curran joined as the new bassist. CREECH. had been a three piece since they formed, but Taz and Nick decided they would acquire a second guitarist to add a new dimension to the already huge sound. One month later Ashley Spurrell joined on lead guitar. Suddenly without warning tragedy struck and with a loss in the family Nick returned to England. Shortly after Zane Rosanoski (later to appear in MAMMAL) joined on drums.
In early 2004 Roddy Scarr replaced Zane and later that year CREECH. recorded their first Australian EP.
In 2005 CREECH. released their second EP titled ‘TAKE IT ALL’. The EP picked up rave reviews from all over the globe, appeared on several extreme sports videos, and received widespread exposure on radio and TV.
In June 2007 CREECH. went into the studio to begin work on their first full-length album ‘AWAY FROM HOME’. In early 2008 Taz was diagnosed with Lymphoma cancer and a broken vertebra, and album release plans were put on hold indefinitely.
In 2009 during his recovery Taz produced a stunning CGI video for the first single from the album, ‘LAZY - Doofwars Episode I’. In late 2009 Sarah Martin joined on bass and ‘LAZY’ was awarded ‘Australian Independent Music Video of the Year’ and ‘Best Pop/Rock Song or the Year’ by the AIMVA. Coming soon 'BROKEN Doofwars Episode II'
