| General | the complex diversity and potential that is life....oh and toys, comics, film, sci-fi, horror, fantasy, books, models, monsters, creepy things, geek stuff, comparative religion, philosophy, psychology, metaphysics, the occult, the paranormal, history, anthropology, paleontology, and anything art related, be it painting, illustration, photography, design, film and music. art is the culmination of everything i love. art is passion. just create! | | Music | anything that elicits an intense emotional response... | | Movies | as of right now, my favorite movie is JUNO! it's smart, witty, maybe a bit naive and idealistic, but that's why i like it. it has this innocence that i long for but will NEVER have again. it's a sweet movie...oh and can i just say that CLOVERFIELD is way overrated. it's too much to get into but if you really want to see a good film that concerns itself with a realistic view of the human implications of a giant monster attack go see THE HOST or GAMERA III. anyways...to be fair, i just love film. in my humble opinion, film is the culmination of ALL the arts. i'm a film JUNKIE! but here's a few personal favorites (but really there are too many to name and remember off the top of my head): star wars (all of them), indiana jones series, lord of the rings, harry potter series, superman, superman II, superman returns, toy story series, hellraiser series, nightbreed, evil dead series, re-animator series, alien series, predator series, hellboy, pirates of the caribbean, batman begins, sin city, spider-man series, the fifth element, back to the future series, american werewolf in london, frankenstein, bride of frankenstein, godzilla (all of them except the US version, and even then i'll tolerate it cause i watch any monster movie), gamera (60's and 90's version), dario argento films, lucio fulci films, george romero films, asian sc-fi/horror, pretty much any thing genre related (ie, horror, sci-fi, fantasy especially if it has monsters in it. really creepy monsters like zombies or werewolves or skin crawling evil entities like in ju-on that give you the heebie-jeebies and force you sleep entirely under the covers thus creating an impenetrable monster barrier), whale rider, bend it like beckham, humphrey bogart movies, audrey hepburn movies, all pixar films, all wes anderson films, all kevin smith films, all jim jarmusch films, all jean-pierre jeunet films, all kurasawa films . . . and HIGH FIDELITY . . . and isn't really all about HIGH FIDELITY . . . i'll let you in on a little secret though. when i'm feeling down and i need a no-brainer, pick-me-up movie, i love to watch A Knight's Tale. Heath Ledger is so dreamy. | | Television | HEROES, dexter, the tudors, masters of horror, my name is earl, how i met your mother, doctor who, torchwood, ghost hunters | | Books | i love books! i love the feel and texture of books. i love the smell of cracking open a new book...the anticipation of soaking up all that literature, knowledge and wisdom. here are a few personal favorites (again too many to mention): siddhartha, anything haruki murakami, anything clive barker, anything poppy z. brite, anything tad williams, anything neil gaiman, anything michael chabon, anything ernest hemingway, the hobbit, lord of the rings, harry potter, tarzan series, dune series, hellboy series, superman series, batman series, wonder woman series, classic john romita senior spider-man, blade of the immortal, lone wolf and cub, the sandman, hellblazer, watchmen, the dark knight returns, from hell, paleontology books, paleo-anthropology books, primate books (but only the great apes), history books mostly dealing with biblical and pre-biblical civilizations and the roman empire, art history books, theological, philosophy and mythologogy books . . . and did i mention HIGH FIDELITY . . . | | Heroes |  |
