Crescent Trailer 5.3.2007 Add to My Profile | More Videos
Some places are far darker thank deep space. Places where the shadows smile. Where men go mad and lovers go missing. These stygian corners of existence are where reality is stretched thin and something hungry is waiting just outside the corner of your eye.
Turn out the lights, take a deep breath, and dare to visit one of these places.
Crescent is dark science fiction at it's most visceral. Phil Rossi weaves a tale that is reminiscent of old school Stephen King but with a shiny, new set of tricks and an appetite to terrify. There's sex. There's corruption. There's horror. And after you sweat your way through the first chapter, there's plenty more to keep you awake a night.
Crescent features an original soundtrack written and performed by the author. This is just one of the many details that sets Crescent apart from the pack.
"...what is right now, my addiction -- Crescent. I'm waiting to see what happens with the freakin' story. *I* do this to people, other people don't do this to me!" -- Scott Sigler, author of Infested (Infection), Earthcore, and Ancestor
"If you're debating about subscribing to Crescent, I've got one question: Why are you hesitating? Just push the button that says "Subscribe" and hold on. This podcast is part Babylon 5, part Firefly, and part Blade Runner...only darker." -- Tee Morris, Author of MOREVI, Billibub Baddings and the Case of the Singing Sword, and co-author of Podcasting for Dummies.
"The writing is great, the reading is first class; the production - the use of atmospheric music and ambient sound like crowd noise is really effective." -- Mike Bennett, author of One Among the Sleepless
Who is Phil Rossi?
Phil Rossi — writer, musician, and podcaster — has always enjoyed hearing himself speak. He embarked on the podcasting journey in early 2006. Since that time, Phil has been actively producing Filling the Page — a PodCast about his experience juggling music, writing, and life in general. He also co-hosts a monthly podcast segment with Tee Morris called MicroBrewed, which has appeared on Michael and Evo’s Wingin’ It and Speaking of Beer. Additionally, Phil’s velvet voice can be heard on episode 11 of the Barfly podcast as well as in Tee Morris' latest podcast novel--Billibub Baddings and the Case of the Singing Sword. Phil is also the winner of PodCast Pickle’s Pickletales competition.
Presently, Phil is recording an album with his band Phil Rossi and the Bad Habit and is in the process of writing a multimedia tour de force with his other band, the Pharmacy Prophets. Both bands perform regularly in the Metro DC area.

I heard you on the One Eighteen Migration podcast, and I have to say you did a freakin stellar job with the role. Speaking of, any chance I could get my hands on that recording of Hey Jude? Or the chords if you used different ones, I'd like to try that verson out myself.
Your "Halloween" story ... love it ! The snow made me feel like I was back home by the great lakes again. ( I think a few of the creatures were in my neighbor's house as well) Looking forward to more! Take it easy... or any way you can, Dr Strangematter
Just wanted to stop by and say that the new Notes From The Vault are awesome. And also remind all of your following, that if you'd like to hear our review of Phil Rossi's Crescent, please check out episode 26 of The Midnight Horror Show @ http://midnighthorrorshow. podOmatic. com/entry/2008-09-20T10_55_46-07_00 .
Hey Phil, its the guy who made the Gerald myspace page as a school project if you remember. I just moved and dont start school for another week so I'm mad bored here at home and figured I'd drop in a hello and say to keep up the great writing. Crescent was a good bit of inspiration for my own horror writing, only I went the low fantasy-horro mix route.
Hi there! If you could take a minute, please vote for us in the Coldplay opening slot competition for DC at http://www.coldplayontour.com/wwdc/ . We're the 11th video down or 5th from the bottom. The still should be a girl singing in a tanktop. Please vote by the 17th of July Thanks!
Hey Phil. How are you? I'm almost finished with Crescent. I got so behind in listening to podcasts and I'm just rolling through the rest of yours. Whats next in podcasting for you? Another book maybe? Crescent 2? The other week I missed Scott Sigler's book signing in SF was so disappointed. Maybe Crescent might have a tier 3 football team as in his novel The Rookie. The Crescent Station Crashheads. Just a thought. I'm not finished, but I hope they don't tear it down, or is that blow it up? Anyway looking forward to finishing it. Later.
Hi, Phil Thanks for the Add! Keep watching the CRASHER movie MYSPACE page and look out for my new movie CRASHER in 2008. See if I can meet my hero, WILLIAM SHATNER while crashing the Emmys, Golden Globes, SAG Awards, Grammys and Oscars!!! Thanks! Scott Weiss (CRASHER)
Here’s wishing you a nifty new 2008 filled with noiseless noses, neato nicknames, noble Nebraskans, gnarly narcoleptic nebulas, and novel novels about nut-eating narwhals and novercaphobic gnats.
Thanks again!
-Jeremy :)
"Shipp's clear, insistant voice pulls you down into the rabbit hole and doesn't let go." --Jack Ketchum
"[Vacation] is an intriguing, challenging, literate, provocative novel I'm not sure I understand and suspect I'm not meant to… I recommend it to those who find reality boring; it may make them see it in new ways." —Piers Anthony
So when does Crescent 2 come out? maybe Crescent 2: Journey To Oblivion. lol just a thought. Love the novel. I'm slowly getting caught up. I can't wait to go to another pub crawl with Sigler and Seth Harwood. I think if you and Hutchins came to it too I'd probably have a heartattack. Maybe not that I am too young for that, but I'd probably be real quiet or won't be able to shut up. Love the podcast, hope all is well.
Phil I gotta say man, that was one of the best damn sci-fi stories ive heard in a while. Loved the vignettes too. Hope Crescent goes to print. Can't wait for the next project.
