Umm, someone just google searched the terms "drugs, alcohol, university of georgia, rolling stone, creswell." Y'all know something I don't know? I mean, is there a graduate student out there doing a history or something?

    hmm ... well ... hi! ~

4th floor may have set off more than their fair share of fire alarms but the fully stocked bar on the same floor more than made up for it. Well, maybe not always fully stocked. I do remember that many drink recipes had to replace a non-alcoholic item with its nearest liquor equivalent. For example, lime juice may have been replaced with lime gin.

Dale sold the Chevron about a year or two ago. It's not even a Chevron anymore. It's a Shell station now. Last I heard, Dale went into landscaping.

Ah, the old times. I remember Bethie and I stealing all of Wilhoyt's April fools equipment one year, and getting in a massive waterballon fight on the 3rd floor A wing.

What was it with Creswell and water gun/baloon fights? It would be all quiet one minute then the 'shootout at Sea World' the next minute.

If there had ever been a real fire, it would have been put out within minutes, and sponsored by Super Soaker.

And at least some of those fire alarms were caused by our good frens on the 4th floor...

Hi there- Brenda from 5th floor 1995, and then I was a (gasp) RA on 5 in 96-97. How is everyone?
I see Bethie on here, and I still know a few girls...
    Anybody remember Red Bluff?
    Or the endless fire alarms?
    Or the water gun wars?
Or sexual pictionary in the lobby and Ebony yelling "FISTING" at the top of her lungs???
Anyone remember jello shots in the lounge?
    Bowling in the hallways?
Has anyone heard from Jonathan from 4 in '95?
Anyone remember Jonelle and Ruthie getting preggers at the same time...yikes...?

Just recovering from Mardi Gras. The whole week kinda reminded me of the old Creswell Days. Without the four square court, of course. And they have parades and beads down here.

Matter of fact, the only real similarity was the overconsumption of bourbon on my part. But I did call Alison, Ty and Gary from ... somewhere near a parade. I don't know why, but I was taken back down memory lane.

In not unrelated news, I have given up beer and liquor for Lent....

    MERRY CHRISTMAS, CRESWELLIANS!
  • Sep 26 2006 7:12 AM

Anybody out there remember when, just nine short years ago, we huddled around computer monitors and attempted to download Southpark's "Spirit of Christmas" on this newfangled thing called "The Internet"?

I ran into Anglea about 3yrs ago at a show. She was living in South Carolina.

As for me, after graduation I move back to Atlanta. I was there working full time with speical needs kids and started as Master's program at GSU. This you, I started a Ph.D. program at LSU. Feel free to come visit the swamp. We even get a Mardi Gras break...

Miguelito, you never met a cup of coffee that didn't inspire a rant of some sort. And I will testify to that end.

You got more work done at the Bluish Sky because that was the office. Downstairs in the winter, outside every other day. Daddy's chair was the seat right next to the door...
  • Aug 27 2006 2:40 AM

for myself, WaHo coffee inspired more rants than Blue Sky, though Blue Sky inspired more actual work.

My problem with the bar that took Blue Sky's place(though Dante is correct and our stop their was both excellent and refreshing) is that you can't smoke. In fact, you can't smoke anywhere in Athens anymore and, therefore, it will never be quite as it was.
  • Aug 25 2006 2:09 PM

All I know is this....Blue Sky Dancing Goats inspired many a wonderful literary rant by yours truly...and will be sorely missed. On a sidenote....looking back, I think I remember NOT seeing it when I was in Athens last October.

On A related note, I think I will be in Athens THIS october.
  • Aug 24 2006 12:36 PM

For what it's worth, the bar that took the place of Blue Sky serves the same brand of coffee in addition to alcoholic drinks and I'm pretty sure they do all the same coffee drinks. Mikey, Jersey, and I stopped by there between Rob's wedding and reception and the bar was most excellent. It's like Blue Sky without the pretentious crowd but with booze and sports on TV. It's a far better place than it was.

Personally, I prefer Starbucks coffee to Blue Sky's coffee choices. Now keep in mind that I'm talking coffee, not some fluffy froo-froo drink like cappuccino, lattes, or anything else. Then again, the best place to get coffee downtown is very much still in business after the Starbucks onslaught: Espresso Royale Cafe. The only bad coffee I've ever had there was the low acid blend and their fluffy froo-froo drinks cost about half of what they cost at Starbucks or the former Blue Sky.
  • Aug 24 2006 7:08 AM

All should mourn the loss of Blue Sky. But, when Starfucks moved in right next door, I suppose we all knew it was only a matter of time. We should applaud the Sky for staying alive so long in the face of global caffeine domination.

Starbucks sucks. I stand by what I said.

What ever happened to Jamie? I haven't seen him since he was about to graduate.

Has anyone seen Hardcore Billy in the past few years?

What about Boston John? If it weren't for Boston John, Jersey would just be John.

Then there was DC Rachel, the 5 or 6 Kate/Cate/Catherines. Any word on them?

What about Steve or even Ben Conrad?

Grandpa ended up getting a forestry job up north last I saw him. Anyone heard from him since graduation?

Finally, what ever happened to Dennis and James?
