My family, children and pets, sincere friendships, owning my own business since 1980, past substitute teaching at several Career & Technology Centers, creating music, sound engineering, music production, photography, writing, motorcycles, art, custom painting, airbrush art, pinstriping, fabrication, wood and metal-working, inventing, studying psychology, gaining more knowledge, boxing, skiing, tennis and playing a few other individual or team sports.

The Beatles and Johnny Cash are my all-time favorite musical artists, followed by a very long list of others. I played in a classic rock/variety band with my ex-wife, Bev, for over 18 years, and I also own and operate a recording studio located within my home. I have recorded and produced over 500 CDs in my lifetime. I also enjoy singing karaoke...don't laugh! You don't need a band, you don't need to haul equipment and you can attempt to sing things that you always wanted to without needing a band to rehearse! It's actually great FUN!

Given the fact that I was an undefeated boxer in my 20's, the "Rocky" series of films starring Sylvester Stallone are my favorite. I like to root for the underdog! Also, Biblical movies with the late Charlton Heston, Jesus Christ Superstar, Johnny Cash movies and Walk The Line - plus any truly inspiring movies that have a good plot, good acting, good music and talented producers.

As a rule, I don't watch much TV, but I like: House, Criminal Minds, Law & Order, CSI, Crossing Jordan, Highway to Heaven, Little House on the Prairie, Touched by an Angel, a few trivial-type game shows, a few sitcoms and old re-runs of shows that I grew up watching since the early 1960's. I also like the Discovery Channel, Animal Planet, America's Funniest Videos, CMT, VH-1, PBS and other learning or educational channels.

My Family comes first, sincere Friendships are Cherished and Music is my Passion. I was nicknamed "Slim" when I was 16-years-old by my good friend Bob "Bart" Barton. Bart passed away in 2008 at the age of 52 from lung cancer. Why can't we find a cure for cancer when we can spend billions of dollars on a war?!

My hands, eyes and ears are the main tools of my variety of trades and hobbies.

Being talented or gifted is as much of a blessing as it is a curse to many people. My mind never stops thinking about things to do and analyzing them. Stress is a powerful thing. There are both positive and negative stress factors in all of our lives. Positive stress is good and can allow one to be productive, while negative stress can be devastating to one's physical and mental health and well being. The fine line in between is the difference between "genius and insanity"! I must admit that I am a bit eccentric at times, but in a fun sort of way! ___________________________________________________________
Nevertheless, I enjoy teaching, writing, photography, music, singing with our bands and even singing karaoke for fun - plus some sports, like; motorcycling, bicycling, tennis, skiing, skating, weight training, wrestling and boxing. I don't watch much TV or movies very often, as I'd rather be "creating" something worthwhile instead - something that I can call my own and be proud of! _____________________________________________________________
I love my family, my children, parents, siblings, friends and neighbors. I believe in God, Love, Peace, Friendship, Compassion, Forgiveness and Brotherhood. I am also a free and deep thinker, as if you can't tell... I also tend to say what's on my mind and share my thoughts and emotions with others openly and honestly, which can be a mixed blessing regarding my character and personality. Some people can't handle close, friendly relationships, while others welcome it. Finding that mutual ground and respecting it takes time and understanding. ___________________________________________________________
Even as a "peace-loving" person, as a sport I used to be a county-wide undefeated Light Heavyweight & Cruiserweight "Golden Gloves" Boxing prospect, a body builder and a competitive weight-lifter. "Billed" in the ring and standing at 6'4" and 190lbs., my physique and strength hasn't changed much over the past 30 years as I am now at age 51.

Still, I accredit staying in fairly good physical shape due to various exercises, sports and playing the drums for nearly 45 years, which keeps my body in tone with a few normal ailments that are typically associated with ageing. I only hope to continue to age "gracefully" with good health and a sound mind. _____________________________________________________________
For the most part, I'm a pretty laid-back person who would rather solve any personal differences peacefully and verbally rather than physically. Nevertheless, I can be a bit assertive and defensive if I am wrongfully aggravated, falsely accused, or if I see others being mistreated or abused. _____________________________________________________________
"Make Love, Not War", as we used to say back in the 1970's "hippie days"... The old adage still holds true. I'd rather keep fighting inside of the wrestling or boxing ring as a sport, not out of "hatred" or toward one another. _____________________________________________________________
Over the course of my life, I have dabbled in just about everything that's related to art, drafting, instructing the Visual Arts at a Vo-Tech School, music & music production, sign crafting, woodworking, metalworking, fabrication, demolition and construction, motorcycles, cars, photography, writing and computers, just to name a few. _____________________________________________________________
Prior to being self-employed both full and part-time for the past 27 years and now being in the field of education, I was also a store manager in the automotive parts, paint, welding and machine shop industry for over 10 years for 2 companies. I have built automotive and motorcycle engines, transmissions, carburetors - plus wooden bridges, home additions and I also do electrical wiring, plumbing, metal-work, welding, carpentry and roofing. I have invented, developed and hand-crafted various time-saving gadgets and tools, which I should consider patenting, as well.

We are all people on this earth co-existing who have simply chosen different professions. _____________________________________________________________

I am not a prejudice person and I try not to look down upon other people unless they intend to harm others or are simply mean-spirited or hateful. I feel that people can change for the better with peace, love, communication and understanding. It's not too late to strive for "World Peace" but it will probably and sadly never happen...

Yo! You (and I) are like fine old steam locomotives. Sure, we may be getting older and need a lot more maintenance to keep us running. That is to be expected and not unusual. But, we have something to offer to the coming generations, wisdom to share and knowledge to add. We've seen it, done it and moved on.
Don't be discouraged by the need for maintenance aka health care. Damn it, we are worth it!
