Sounds Like
long-forgotten memories of the future golden age of old-time music.
The "seeds" for Cricket Hill were planted during a long conversation one evening between Karl and Hal about "forgotten" music, the music that you don't hear on the radio, isn't usually played live, and most often can only be found on a dusty LP found in a thrift store bin or at a yard sale. Prior to Cricket Hill, Karl's and Hal's paths had crossed musically for years. Individually and collectively, they'd gone wherever the music took them, and always injected their own personalities into what they were playing (you should have heard them tear through their 2-man version of Oingo Boingo's "Dead Man's Party"...) Discovering that they shared the same love and appreciation of this forgotten music, they decided to try and do something to help keep it alive. So they worked up a list of songs pulled mostly from old family song books, figured out arrangements for electric guitar and drums, and booked an opening slot at the monthly local music showcase, where crowd reaction indicated that they were on the right track.
We'd like to thank everyone who continues to inquire about the band, visits this page, sends new friend requests (!) and in general shows support for our musical endeavors.
While Cricket Hill isn't the biggest band to ever play these songs, there's a genuine love of the music, and a desire to share that passion with anyone who sees or hears them perform.
Cricket Hill, thank you for your friendship and your real deal liveplayed acoustic americana. Greetings from the Netherlands. We in Holland have no candy mountain, yet its a land that is fair and bright.
Stay in touch and take care.

We have no place to "rock". You need some SP live? Ha. Don't we all. The drums are now in the back of my mom's closet. So yeah.....the "rocking" hasn't taken place in a long time..
