MUSIC IS INCIDENTAL AND COINCIDENTAL;
IT IS THE RIPPLE OF THE WATER
FROM VOICES OF DEVOTION;
IT IS THE ART OF LIFE
AND THE IMAGERY OF THOUGHT;
IT IS THE SOUL OF EVERYTHING
AND THE BEGINNING OF NOTHING;
IT IS THE POWER OF POWER--
AN ETERNAL QUEST;
IT IS THE TIME OF FOREVER,
NEVER LOST IN THE PAST:
IT IS "NEVER" UNTRUE!
--Wayde Kenji Brown Monday, February 14th, 1994, 3:20 a.m. - 9:55 p.m.
Alot of group's have taken our name, but we were the first to have it back on Halloween of 1998. (See photos of one of our first performances as CRIME SCENE.) We hope you enjoy our sites and our music. We wish to thank all our friends on myspace (and the ones we're continuing to get) and all our fans everywhere who've supported us through all these years.
WAYDE BROWN
RHYTHM GUITARIST/VOCALS
Wayde is a native of Auburn, WA. and has lived in the King County area all his life. He sang his first song, You Are My Sunshine, before he was able to talk. By the time he was eight years of age; he picked up the bass guitar and quickly learned the basics of the instrument. Between the ages of eight and fourteen, he wrote and recorded several SONGS and played them for his friends and family. The recordings basically consisted of SOUNDS from various instruments and THINGS lying around, like the wind blowing, cars honking, toys falling down stairs, people talking, and the like.
He was very interested in music and sounds and the parts they played in life. For instance, he was always fascinated why certain songs made people happy, while others made them sad or angry. He discovered that music and songs were a kind of separate entity existing in this universe. He strongly believes that music is not only heard by technical performance, but also felt by the soul.
By the time Wayde turned fifteen, he learned, with the help of his father, how to play guitar. He also wrote his first song called, Im So Lonely. Ever since then, hes been constantly writing songs and poetry. Over the years, hes played in a few bands, including, Psychedelic Pillows, Departure, The Santairs, and Prospector, and has played in countless taverns, parties, churches, and schools.
Over the last several years, hes recorded nearly seventy of the five hundred songs hes written at various studios, mostly at Audio Recording, Inc. in Seattle. He also had two books of poetry published entitled, A Pure Exhibit Of Ancient Art Part One: The Poems, and Ageless Purity. He has several projects in the making; continuously working on writing songs, several short stories and a short novel. IMAGERY RECORDS is the record label that Wayde created and owns the rights to the name.
Wayde is one of the founding members of the group CRIME SCENE and hopes to be playing with this band as long as they can stick together. The diverse talent of the group impresses him. He says, This band has five members with five different musical backgrounds. Every musician brings so much to the table and likes different styles of music. They have an endless supply of talent it seems".
As a musician, Wayde has performed at such venues as The Moose Lodge, Tonys Happy Daze, Cascade Lounge, Eagles, Auburns Performing Arts Center, Doubletree Inn, and much more.
Wayde is the rhythm guitarist and one of five lead singers of CRIME SCENE. When the situation arises, he can jump to lead guitar, bass, or drums. His interests/hobbies include spending time with his family, golfing, chess, martial arts, "anything artistic" like music, and writing. You can e-mail Wayde at waydebrown@rock.com
NICK WILCOX
BASS GUITARIST/VOCALS
Nick is the other founding member of the band. Hes their bass player, lead and backing vocalist, and when the need arises, plays the synthesizer.
Nick first began playing the bass for a church folk group, but soon events took a nasty turn for the worse. He started playing rock and roll. In the first band he played with, he frightened the neighbors (and several small animals) with a cover of Metallica's "Enter Sandman," and other hard core rock tunes. (In fact, practice was once interrupted for about half an hour while the drummer explained to his mom that "Enter Sandman" was not a satanic anthem!)
When Nick met Wayde, the sounds mellowed a bit. Nicks voice blended with Waydes so well, he liked what he heard and decided to stick around. "I knew there was something there," he once told Wayde. Together, they started singing songs by such artists as The Everly Brothers, The Beatles, The Hollies, The Righteous Brothers, and The Beach Boys. Dr. Wilcox (yes, a REAL doctor) has written a few tunes that CRIME SCENE plays in their repertoire.
Nick has used his bass playing skills to pay his way through college. This also required him to move away from the band for four years while he went to Chiropractic College in Portland, OR.
Well, now hes back and ready to pay off the student loans, so the band plays on. His interests include "any beer," music and equipment/gear, and Melissa (his forever girlfriend.)
"If I could have made money playing music, I wouldn't be a doctor." Nicholas A. Wilcox, DC.
MARK HASBROOK
ACOUSTIC GUITARIST/VOCALS
Mark is the little bit of country that every band should have, and CRIME SCENE has him. His situation was one of an interesting merger between two groups. Mark was the front man of a band he founded called Prospector.
Mark started playing the (acoustic) guitar at the age of thirteen. While in high school, he performed his first gig at South Shore Middle Schools auditorium, consisting of three guitarists and one vocalist. Soon afterward he formed a group called Family Tradition, consisting only of family members. One of his most memorable moments was when he played in a band called Hatrick. They were the back-up band for Freddie Hart, who recorded such country songs as, Keys In The Mailbox, and Easy Lovin. They played many venues, including the Elks club and Gerry Andles. While in the group Prospector, he played at such places as The Silver Moon Tavern, Star Lake Tavern Inn, and the Eagles club, with whom he is a member. He's also performed numerous times as a solo act for various parties and retirement homes.
Mark has the natural front man stage presence that many bands lack. He's the tallest member of CRIME SCENE and packs a powerful voice, though he didnt start singing until the mid-nineteen eighties. After much encouragement, Mark became one of the finest country singers around and a very solid vocalist in general.
He's also tried his hand at writing a couple of songs and has played them with CRIME SCENE. His roots are pure country and classic rock. Like he says, I like anything with a beat that you can dance to. Mark states simply that he has only two hobbies, Music and family. In such a diverse group as CRIME SCENE, it appears there will always be room for Mark Hasbrook; a perfect addition to compliment the band. (You can e-mail Mark directly at buster 3227@aol.com)
PAUL KOLLMAN
DRUMMER/PERCUSSIONIST/VOCALS
He recently finished working with a Latin/Jazz group called "Groupo Amoroso." He spent three years with The Olson Brothers Band between 1992-1995. They released an album entitled, "River In The Rain" with Paul playing all the drum tracks. Between 1999-2001, Paul performed for the church services at Greenwood Christian Church in North Seattle, while working with a few blues bands at the same time.
Between the years of 1975-1984, he was with several other bands, performing various styles of music. Paul still works in the music studio, performing with other bands on an as needed basis. He's also a lead and backing vocalist, adding yet another "vocal instrument" to a group that already has four lead singers.
Paul also is a "part-time" actor. He has appeared in several (made for t.v.) movies over the course of his life, treating it both like a job and a fun hobby.
KEN FORDYCE
LEAD GUITARIST/VOCALS
While our lead guitarist, Jay Munger, has left CRIME SCENE on an indefinite leave of absence, lead guitarist, Ken Fordyce, has took the reigns and their sound remained as powerful as ever. Mr. Fordyce was the recording engineer of CRIME SCENE'S first cd, entitled 1ST OFFENSE, and has also performed one of the lead guitar parts on the song GROOVE. Ken has a natural knack of how a song should sound. Not only is he a natural sitting behind the booth, fiddling with the controls as an engineer, he also has a passion for the guitar, making his live performances stand out as people take notice. Here's a little bit about Ken and his studio as edited by Derek Fordyce.
Over 2 years in the design and construction, Mirror Sound Studio announces the opening of it’s 5-room facility in Shoreline, WA. The brand new studio offers 4 recording rooms and a large Control room housing complete 24 track music production facilities, full computer recording and editing capabilities as well as superb CD mastering. Quality acoustic design including control over internal acoustics, HVAC implementation and room to room isolation was employed during every stage of the building process. Mirror Sound Productions originated in Cherry Hill, NJ, just outside Phila., PA, in 1980. Owner, Ken Fordyce’s experience extends back to Berklee College of Music, Boston Mass. He majored in guitar while enrolled in the Instrumental Performance Program. Valuable work experience came from his work at Sigma Sound Studios, Queen Village Studios and NFL Films prior to opening his own 4-track operation in 1979. Numerous music projects bolstered Mirror Sound to 8 then 16 and now 24 track. Fordyce, an analog veteran, couldn’t be happier with his current Adat/BRC interface. As Ken states, “I was a little tentative with the Adats at first, as I’m sure everyone is. This may sound crazy, but from an engineering point of view, comparing my previous 16 track to the Adats, is like the difference between driving a car and flying a jet. The sound is great and Adats offers production opportunities unimaginable with analog. Give me a call! I love discussing Analog vs. Digital. It’s revolutionary technology, you naturally want to know ‘what’s the catch’, but the deeper I get into it, the only limitation I can find is the operator’s knowledge of the system. Once you’ve mastered the software, you realize the system gives you more time to concentrate on the music because every redundant engineering task can be automated. And that’s just for starters, then there’s editing, syncing and networking capabilities that are definitely a plus. ‘Too clean’ you say? I say nah, if you want grit and dirt which perhaps translates into tape compression and/or a heavier lo-end, just process it in before you record or in the mix. There are a lot of ways you can do that. Start with superior accuracy in your hard disc recording system and go from there.”

I understand that most of you don't speak German and are not able to upload videos because of the language barrier. If you would like me to upload your videos to the German video websites, please let me know.
