Crimson Butterfly are underground cult-followed Russian IDM kamikaze. Their music may range from light and minimal abstract lo-fi sounds to harsh and chaotic noisy massacre. Live performances can be visually shocking and brutal, because the project members misuse dissecting knives, surgical needles, and pieces of raw bloody meat on stage during sonically extreme live sets. Crimson Butterfly’s creative work is not so easy to perceive, it’s a kind of art shock therapy, both for the listeners, and for the band members themselves. The project does not fit into any showbiz stereotypes. All of their creative work is exceptionally investigative.
