CRIMSON DIRT MACHINE (CDM) is a music and movie entertainment company formed in late 2007.
CDM is a throw-back to the independent entertainment companies of the mid-50's: Sun, Chess / Checker, Atlantic, King / Federal / Deluxe and Roulette… they were vinyl rainbow-labeled treasure tones of another world…in a faraway place and time.
This Magic Music inspired me to run away to Hollywood, USA on February 3, 1959.
From that date to the invention of the Audio Cassette, I contributed as a Producer / Writer / Publisher to Number One Records contained on slabs of hot wax. The record companies were Lute, Rendezvous, Chattahoochee.
Hey, I even created sounds for such long forgotten Mini-Diskeries as Last Chance, Del Rio, Kimley, Living Legend, Hi-Back, Titan, Gardena, and Kimco. See my website for the whole story since 1959.
I labored on thru the different invented music delivery systems like 8-Track, the Maxi-Single, the Remix, Sampling, Cut-Up, Freestyle, The 12 Inch Single, and the CD.
Its now the 21st Century and time for the next step in the Recording Retail Revolution: Digital Downloaded Music and Movie Product.
This is the main reason for the formation of Crimson Dirt Machine.
The old days of regional music may be over. Local bands getting a buzz going and landing…"a record deal" could be as archaic a starting point for finding a distribution outlet as it would be composing music for a player piano or a wire recording.
Back in the Silver 60s straight thru to the Nuclear 90s, new artists needed to be great live in order to be considered for a recording career.
But what about the "Recording Artist?" The long-forgotten phrase used to describe those performers who excel in recording environments. These recording spaces / recording studios are where Audio Magic takes place either with committed family and friends or where like-minded individuals bring their vocal, instrumental, songwriting and technical skills to the party.
Some may say that Over Achieving Recording Dreamers are not real entertainers. Some may say that's Fake Entertainment. The Haters are Wrong! Hence the company motto: Real Entertainment for Real People.
Crimson Dirt Machine started in Redlands, California. Now I live in Silverlake, California and commute to Detroit, New Orleans, NYC, Glasgow, Newcastle and London. In December 07, I performed live @ The Hague, Holland in the State-X New Forms Festival.

These early days of the 21st Century, in the Movie Business, are a lot like the early days of the Record Business, in Mid-20th Century. Only this time instead of small Record Companies, there are small but mighty; new Movie companies.
Crimson Dirt Machine, is one of these Companies. It is possible to view downloadable movies on, Camera Phones/I-phones etc. in India & Japan. They have current Visual Product, generating income with story lines, acting & script content. . . unlike theatrical, cable, DVD, BlueRay Movies.
CDM feels We will be a Small But Mighty Powerhouse in this Early market place. . . perhaps it will no longer be a new frontier, & other film-makers will take on this new Challenge & Oppurtunity. We @ CDM feel we will hit all market places in time. . . We hope to make the jump. To the Top of The Box Office Hit Parade.
In the 50's, I worked @ American International Pictures & Arwin Productions. In the 40's, my mother & father, worked for such legendary Dream Factories as Monogram-Eagle Lion-Republic. . .Mom was Shelby Payne=1 of the 2 Cigarette Girls in "The Big Sleep" w/ Bogart & Bacall. Dad was Douglas Fowley= the Director in "Singing In The Rain" w/ Gene Kelly & Debbie Reynolds. Yes, "Sleep". . . was Warner Bros. & "Rain" was MGM. . . but the dues were paid. . . & most of their work. . . came from the small Dream Factories listed above & other Studios like them.
CDM's Movie Budgets, are all on a shoe string. . . on a tiny discounted pair of shoes. . .but the results are =Promising. Doll Boy The Movie, currently of this writing, March 28th 2009, is over 450,000 views on Youtube. We are currently reviewing Digital Download Distribution Offers.
CDM, is Self-Fiananced, from Kim Fowley Intellectual Property Royalties & Various Radio-Television Acting Fees, Audio Production & Consultant Fees. . . as well as the Non-Millions that I make from Concert & Club Gigs.
CDM will someday have backing when the Visual Product Business. . . becomes aware of us. . . but untill then we are: DREAMERS FIRST="FAKE ENTERTAINEMENT FOR REAL PEOPLE"

Carl Wilson Tribute 10 Year Anniversary Benefit Concert & Fundraiser

Tickets are available exclusively through the Roxy (cash and credit cards accepted at the door, credit cards only accepted for phone orders). The price of tickets includes light hors d'oeuvres. Seating is on a first come, first serve basis. Valet parking is available, and there is a $5 parking garage across the street in the 9000 Building. A live auction will be held during the show. Mission statement: The aim and primary focus of the Carl Wilson Foundation is to help in the funding of cancer research and to aid those afflicted with the disease.
I can't wait to get the CD done and do some shows where I can hopefully meet some of you.

The new material we are working on will have a guitarmony sound and will require three players. We are looking for one player who lives in the Detroit Metro area.
What we are looking for:
1. Age 18 to 27 2. Must be a great player. 3. Studio and Live experience a plus. 4. Style of music is pop/rock/alternative/punk 5. Style is a cross between 30 Seconds To Mars, Paramore, Fall Out Boy, Muse, Garbage, and The Used with strong commercial appeal. 6. Lead or Backing vocal capabilities a plus. 7. Ability to write guitar parts for existing melody lines. 8. Must have time to make a commitment and be available for studio and live shows. Currently rehearsals are scheduled on Sunday between 1:00 P.M. and 5:00 P.M. 9. Will require learning a certain amount of filler cover material. 10. If you have drug or alcohol related issues this probably wouldn't work for you.
A label showcase is scheduled for late February - so time is of the essence.

Crimson Dirt Machine is a great name, and the endeavor a really interesting chapter in the progression of Kim Fowley as a creative entity. Hope you build up the name, because the concept is cool; and the profile pic seems to say by implication and vibe what the rest of this page doesn't.
