Life, Music, Experience, Knowledge, Beer...All that comes our way. Notable Bands: OPETH, DEATH, DREAM THEATER, FATES WARNING, BLACK SABBATH, OZZY, IRON MAIDEN, YES, KANSAS, LEO BROUWER, JOHN CAGE, PHILLIP GLASS, IGOR STRAVINSKI, & Many Others...
There was a time in rock music's history when bands pushed boundaries, defied genres, and stood fast to musical integrity. So is Crimson Sky, a progressive metal outfit following in the wake of modern visionaries Opeth and Dream Theater: groups who take their cues from such innovators as Black Sabbath and Yes. Though the band takes pride in its influences, one spin of their self-titled debut album will reveal that they are no clone. With firm commitment to the art of music, Crimson Sky is interested in building new sounds.
The architect of this creative undertaking is guitarist / singer / composer, Jay Santo. Joining him in this quest is Of Dreams & Madness drummer John Giacchi. Past guest musicians have included Berklee bassist Billy Buchannan and Jeremy Fortier violin/viola, (both appearing on the band's debut CD). Other musicians who have passed through the ranks and helping out in their collaborative efforts are Guitarist Mike Potvin (Of Dreams and Madness guest appearing on the band's debut CD), Classical and Rhythm Guitarist Phil Wright (covering many shows and appearing on the cover of "Under a Glass Moon" for a forth comming Dream Theater tribute CD through Sharkbite Records), Bassist Steve Johnson (MOI, Unibrows - also covering many live gigs and playing on the DT tune), and Guitarist Mike Maynard.
The architect of this band has a vision. Like a panoramic view of a musical landscape as seen from the peak of a towering structure, it is an overlook of all styles of music and all forms of art. It is the essence of the big picture and seeing how everything interconnects in perfect harmony. It is this vision that sets Crimson Sky apart from the norm; this mental picture the band strives to paint in its music. Imagine it: beautiful classical guitar passages that collide with dissonant bombast; violins soaring over electric guitars and double bass drumming; a song where jazz, classical, and metal coexist in creative fusion. Now hear it in the work of Crimson Sky. It is progressive music in the truest sense: moving forward, charting new ground, and never holding back. It is progressive metal at its finest.

Hi there CRIMSON SKY first of all we'd like to say thanks for being our myspace pal. We wanted to make sure you knew the reason incase we suddenly vanish off of your friends list. The movement we've started for indie artists has grown significantly and consumes all of our time these days. We seldom sign into our myspace account and this is making several people believe that we are ignoring them. We are not ignoring anyone, we wanted everyone to know that. What we're doing has become so busy we just don't have the time for myspace any longer, so in all honesty we are probably going to just close our myspace account.
Many people wanted to use us in the future so if you were one of those people make sure you bookmark the link below so that in the event that we do close our myspace account you won't loose contact with us. I wish you the best of luck in your music career. Thanks again for being our myspace pal.
