   Jerilyn's Comedian Bio
BioMy comedic career didn't begin until I was 55. Late bloomer? You bet.
FilmsNorma Rae (1979)

    Jerilyn's Interests
GeneralGrandkids, comedy, travel, volunteering (disaster work), writing, and performing ..
MusicEclectic--folk, alternative, country, Irish, oldies (like me)--Mary Chapin Carpenter, Beatles, Kathy Mattea, Michael Buble', Van Morrison, the Corrs, Solis, Chieftans, Simon and Garfunkel, Carpenters, Laura Nyro, Barenaked Ladies, Counting Crows, Melissa Manchester, Soundtracks from Broadway and Movies, Beach Boys, Jim Croce, Celtic Woman, Billy Joel, ELO, Linda Ronstadt, Indigo Girls, Carly Simon, Dan Fogelberg, James Taylor, Heart, Judy Collins, Joni Mitchell, John Denver, Amy Grant, Bob Marley, Anne Murray, Norah Jones, Paul McCartney, Pat Benatar, Talking Heads, and of course there's more...
MoviesFinding Neverland, When Harry Met Sally, DodgeBall, An Affair to Remember, West Side Story, Willie Wonka, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Tombstone (but only if you view it as a comedy), The Princess Bride, To Kill a Mockingbird, Vacation, Christmas Vacation, European Vacation, Little Women (Katherine Hepburn version), Pride and Prejudice (Greer Garson and Laurence Olivier version), Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (so long and thanks for all the fish), all of the Harry Potter movies, Pirates of Penzance (only because Kevin Kline ROCKS in it), more later...
TelevisionFavorite show is Stargate SG-1, followed closely by Stargate Atlantis and Battlestar Gallactica. As for others, if it's a reality show, I like it! Used to call them guilty pleasures, but recently I've quit apologizing for my low brow TV viewing habits.
BooksAnything written by my friends (or me): Beth Amos, Anne Frasier, David Feldman, Debbie Puente, Cyn Mobley, Gloria Rosenthal, Doug Clegg, et al. Plus I love humorous mysteries-- Sue Grafton, Janet Evanovich, Jerrilyn Farmer, Sara Paretsky, JD Robb. Plus thrillers by Jonathan Kellerman, Faye Kellerman, Linda Fairstein, Dean Koontz, and others...stuff that gets the adrenaline flowing. Also am learning Spanish, so am reading textbooks as well. Besides the above: To Kill a Mockingbird; Little Women; Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy; Pride and Prejudice; all the Harry Potter books; more later...
HeroesAlive or dead? Then...My parents (Eddie and Elaine), my sibs (Jan, John, Jane, Joe, Jay, Jill, Jeff, and Jim), and my kids (Rob and Jill). Seriously. I could tell you why with each of my family members, but won't. :) Famous and not-so-famous heroes who are not relatives: Clara Barton, Mother Theresa, Mae West, Three Stooges, anyone connected with Doctors Without Borders, Bill Gates, Dr. Tom Dooley, Dick Chudnow, Mme. Ngai, Steven Spielberg, Fr. Thomas Keating, Betty Tisdale, and more to be added later...

About me:
I love improv, sketch, and stand-up comedy and do all three. I do improv with the ComedySportz Rec League and at Bucketworks; my sketch comedy is BroadMinded; and I've done stand-up in Wisconsin, Nevada, Illinois, and California. Not too bad, considering I just started studying and performing comedy a few years ago. Passionate about being a grandma. It's the best thing in the world. Just quit a good job as communications director for an international training company in order to do disaster mental health work for the Red Cross. Financially it's a really, really dumb decision. Emotionally, it's a great one. This video is a LIC Commercial, written by Maria Zanoni, and it premiered at our performance at ComedySportz on 10/13/06. .. width="425" height="350"> ....>

are you coming up here to visit? your tree is still alive and well, but I am moving so I might have someone else watch the tree for a while. I don't want you to think I am exposing the tree to too much crazyness without your permission. Don't want to corrupt the tree...
