Cristianne is a uniquely talented singer and songwriter. Born in New York City and raised in the United Kingdom, she is an original mix of Greek and Salvadorian heritage which accounts for her classically exotic features and innate sex appeal. A strong music education since age five accounts for her musical proficiency; in her youth she was a member of a professional choral group performing at venues such as the Royal Albert Hall in London. Cristianne moved to Los Angeles after high school where she was offered a residency jazz gig fronting the Paul Turner Big Band. Within two years the group had already opened up for Tony Bennett, worked with the legendary Steve Allen, and been personally requested to play for Milton Berle's 88th birthday party.
Choosing to broaden her horizons and musical style, Cristianne began collaborating with various producers and musicians, creating a portfolio of original material. It was not long before some of these songs found there way onto independent film sound tracks; "You Called it Love" featured in the movie "Cool Crime" and "Step Into my Garden" in the film "Garden of Evil". Soon Cristianne's music was circulating heavily enough to reach the ears of the deejay duo Deep Swing. Together they wrote "Touched by Love" which got signed to Kult Records NY, debuted at the WMC in Miami, FL 2000, and earned a glowing review in Billboard magazine which specifically praised Cristianne's unique vocal sound. This lead to her free-styling live jazzy vocals over instrumental house music and kept her in high demand within the underground music scene.
The four song EP "...Not a Love Song" is the result of a collaboration with French producer Gwenael Barre and Los Angeles based producer Erik Rico. The songs included on this disc are made up of pretty melodies paired with catchy hooks and choruses that you will find yourself humming long after the stereo has been turned off. Incorporating elements of Nu-jazz, Bossa, Reggae, and Soul, these songs clearly convey Cristianne's empathetic take on people and the inevitable situations they encounter on life's journey.
Her strengths lie not only within the purity of her well honed vocal instrument but also in her storytelling. Drawing from personal experiences she blends sweet simple lyrics with universal themes to weave poignant tells which contain positive messages and leave one feeling curiously uplifted.
Most recently Cristianne was flown out to Memphis, TN to record two of her songs (Airplane Song and Lady Marilyn) at the legendary Ardent recording studios. These two strong songs produced by the renowned Nashville trumpet player, Gary Gazaway, have more of a live band feel demonstrating Cristianne's diverse musical capabilities.
With Cristianne's unique vocal style and commanding stage presence, she is equipped to be an innovator within her industry .This exciting performer has the sultry sophistication of a young Sade, the understated sexiness of Astrud Gilberto, the rich vocal resonance of Ella Fitzgerald, and the pop/dance Diva capabilities of Madonna. She also sings in French and Spanish giving her huge crossover appeal into the foreign market. It is these qualities along with her superior integrity and work ethic which make Cristianne an International, commercially viable masterpiece.
