Sounds Like
I don't like describing my music, or anybody else’s for that matter, by comparison to other artists. Its way too subjective and is usually wrong. So I'll let you decide what Critter sounds like.
Critter is a blend of organic and inorganic sounds in an attempt to capture the
essence and duality of man, the attempt to accept and to reject what we are. The push pull of our existence, to belong, yet to isolate and stand above. Acoustic guitars coming through old radios being played along with grain table synths. Rhodes pianos over samples and cut-up drum beats. Vocoded voices coupled with grand pianos and cellos.
Broken synths repeating messages of pop songs by its creator, who has long
left and moved onto better things. Sentimental electronic music created by
machines who hate electronic music, who resent their destiny of fading
oscillation. Blinking LED's, blown speakers and country road drives in electrical storms, soundtracks for a movie that will never exist. The machines will accompany you...but they are unforgiving.
Addiction and redemption. Broken hearts and minds sharing a bed with a bad memory and a melody longing with regret. Waiting for it's revenge. Or just to be heard.
Memento mori.
