I have to share this too - I found it on my friend Julian Lage's website. It is Stravinsky conducting the end of the Firebird Suite. One of the most inspiring things I've ever seen! Enjoy:
Well, for starters, I play the guitar. I'm from a smallish town in Virginia called Fredericksburg. I get distracted easily and quite frequently I go off on tangents. My parents are both banjo players. I graduated from Oberlin College. Under careful tutelage, I've been slowly, but surely, learning to dance. I love eating good food. I still love getting dressed up for Halloween. I drive a Dodge Stratus. I probably won't have this yellow as the backdrop for my page for much longer. My guitar's name is "Uncle Johnny." I'm lucky to get to play music with some of my favorite musicians.
Below are upcoming Punch Brothers dates. Come on out!
Chris, thanks for the Igor clip. very moving to see how closely he listens to the entire orchestra. I can barely hear four guys around me in a jam session.
Hey Chris, This is Ronnie's niece from ions ago. I'm trying to get a group of Tanglewood people out to the Northampton show tonight. It may just be me, but I'm really looking forward to hearing you all live. Break a leg!
YEEEEEEEEEE HAAAAWWWWWW !!!!!!!!...You are coming to Maine for two shows this summer with THE PUNCH BROTHERS....We saw you in Rockland last year at the Strand Theater and were blown away.....Can't wait for more......
Hey Chris. I will be taking a trip to New York for a week just beeing a tourist in the city. And I just found out that you guys are having a P-Bingo while I am there. What are the chances?! I am so happy that I get to see you guys again. Really looking forward. Take care, -Gummi, from Iceland.
Heard that you did a great job playing with Sara W. last night. Your musicianship on her albumn is awesome. Hope the two of you continue to collaborate, and, hey, we'd like to hear more of your singing, too!
We just got some new live tracks up and are about to head into the studio to cut our EP. Give us a listen and tell us what you think. Thanks for your friendship.
