Crooked Crow is a rock and roll band from the DC 'burbs with a sound that's been described as Tonic and Vertical Horizon meet the Foo Fighters. From the moment they take the stage, listeners will be unable to help but to move and groove to the rockin' beat of Crooked Crow's songs.
Currently promoting their latest album, "Real People," the band has been energizing crowds around the Washington DC metro area, New Jersey, and New York City. With upcoming tour dates across the Northeast, Crooked Crow continues to take their music to the masses.
Crooked Crow consistently draws a healthy crowd to their shows, be they local or even as far away from "home base" as New York city. The next time they're in your town, be sure to catch the show! You'll be hooked by the band's introspective, melodic lyrics and searing guitar leads that soar over a driving, heart-pounding rhythmic beat.
The Boys of Crooked Crow
Bruce Parker
Bruce is the Crow's lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist. In addition to the Bruce Parker Band, and of course, Acoustic Reign, he has fronted several other bands to include: The Instigators, Stark Raving Mad, and The Shaky Surgeons. Bruce was once the winner of the Arizona Songwriter's Association Contest and was featured on several local radio and cable television music shows.
Jamie Rasmussen
Jamie is the bass player in Crooked Crow. He started his musical career at age ten on the tuba, but picked up bass guitar at age sixteen when he was forbidden from playing his aggressive style of “heavy tuba” in his high school Jazz band. During college, Jamie founded Philadelphia area Ska/Punk band The Skattish Beasts, as well as laid down the groove for local bands Dionysus, Limit 25, and most recently, Acoustic Reign.
Brian Symmes
Brian took over as lead guitar player in Crooked Crow in 2002. His experiences while living as a professional musician in NYC during the 80s have greatly influenced his sound, and he consistently keeps the band well grounded. He has played with many local acts, including Simple Man, and can be found haunting open-mic nights all across Northern Virginia. There are very few rock or blues songs that he doesn't already know.
Kyle Jackson
After going through several drummers during Crooked Crow’s early years, Kyle joined the band in 2005, and was here to stay. As the youngest member of Crooked Crow, he brings a fresh, modern drumming style to the band’s music, enhancing and updating the driving rock influences of the rest of the rhythm section.
