   About Cropdusters

Cropdusters
Quantcast

Cropdusters were formed in the hours between last call and sunrise, in the back room of a smoky bar in Springfield, MO. Since that moment in August 2008, they’ve quickly moved from the back room to the front stage, bringing their after-hours, Ozarkian songwriting with them.

While the band may be new, its individual members are anything but rookies. Brian Azevedo (bass, guitar, vocals) is a sought-after multi-instrumentalist of the Springfield scene and a long time member of local favorite Sweetwater Abilene. C.H. McCoy (keys, guitar) has honed his skills with the up and coming Southern Hills. Taylor Steele has been a gigging drummer since the age of 14, most notably with Springfield’s popular indie-country band, Cornbelt Chorus. Jacob Wyrick (guitar) served his time with Slewfoot recording artists Honky Tonk Chateau. Rounding out the band is Jeb Stuart (bass, guitar, vocals), who paid his dues recording and touring with Lost Highway artist Ryan Bingham.

In February 2009, the band released its debut EP, Howdy, which TheFourFour.com called “a good night of drinking waiting to happen.” Since then, Cropdusters have been called upon to open for multiple national acts including Hayes Carll, Big Smith, and Macon Grayson, and have been bestowed with “Best Band” honors by GO Magazine.

Primed and ready to fire, watch for Cropdusters to be playing near you soon. But don’t be surprised if the night ends where the whole thing began – in the near-twilight glow coming through the window of a closed-for-the-night bar.
