   Crossfields's Blurbs
About me:

Crossfields is a series of publications from London based agency Wire aiming to encourage creative debate around important, topical issues. Each edition will have its own theme and identity. The theme of the latest issue is Home.

A sense of home is widely regarded to be one of the most basic human needs – to be comfortable, secure and at ease in personal surroundings. Yet whilst evaluating what constitutes this emotion, it’s easy to become lost, leading to the question: where is home?

Crossfields Issue 2: Home, explores ideas of home, with contributions from a broad spectrum of creatives, from many different fields. The result is a collection of imaginative, personal interpretations of the subject. Contributors include: The Designers Republic, Jonathan Ellery, Why Not Associates, Paul Davis and the Big Issue Writing Group. Home is an excellent, visually driven contribution to the subject and is a worthy purchase for anyone interested in design and contemporary culture. Available from www.crossfields.org

Who I'd like to meet:

Graphic designers, photographers, illustrators, writers, poets, film-makers and all creatives who are interesed in contributing to the next issue of Crossfields. The theme of Issue 3 is 'Ego'.

The submission deadline date is 31st March 2007. Fully detailed brief is available from www.crossfields.org

Crossfields Issue 2: Home can be purchased from the ICA bookshop, Design Museum bookshop and OFR bookstore in the Truman Brewery, Brick Lane. Also available from Tate Modern bookshop, Eastside bookshop (Brick Lane), MarMar Co in Cheshire Street (all London). Outside of London, Crossfields can be bought from the Arnolfini in Bristol, MOMA in Oxford and the Aberystwyth Arts Centre in Wales. Will let you know when more stockists are confirmed.

Crossfields Issue 1: Access features work from GTF, Paul Davies, Anthony Oliver, the Jan Family, Yacht Associates, Kessels Kramer and many others. We have a limited amount left. They can be purchased from www.crossfields.org

"THE FLYY PEOPLE BILL OF RIGHTS"

1.Flyy People can talk about whoever they want whenever they want
2.Flyy People can laugh at those who are not flyy just because
3.Flyy People usually dont have to apologize unless its really serious
4.Flyy People are better than all the people that are not flyy by default.
5.Flyy People are allowed to not match every once in a while and call it a fashion statement
6.Flyy People dont need others to tell them they are flyy, its common fact
7.Flyy People can do whatever they like whenever they want simply because they are flyy

You make the cut. You are officially a Flyy Person. Go ahead, enjoy the privilege...Your life is a whole lot easier than those that aren't
