hi my friends... thx for inviting me to ur private gig... here is a little gift give u bk.. my new song "Crosscalling".. adapted all the song names from ur debut album "Talking To The Moon"... pls check it out and leave me a comment.... rock on!!! greetings from ur friend Herman
Last night I went to the Crosscalling live held by Crosshair. It’s pretty dawn good really! just 5 guys, friends, and true living room music! And I bought their debut album called “Talking to the moon”. Here is my track-by-track comment! 1. Morning Haze Start with guitar broken chord. Some sound effect were used in order to give the feeling of “haze”. This short instrumental piece kick off the album and giving the album the mood of Crosshair!
2. Romantic Film this is the number which I call it their number 1 hit. Simple lyrics, simple idea, simple meaning, a great song! According to their blog, this song is about being the main characters of a romantic film. What a simple but great idea. In the chorus we can notice that Victor used pitch shifter to make up some sound in both left and right channel.
3. Moody Sunday All songs in this album are soft and this one is not an exception. The sound in this song is so clean, but it got some layer after the tremolo guitar chord is added. And Felix voice became Crosshair’s most signature sound! Driven guitar sound is hired for the solo but the song is still pure and nice!
4. Love Is Like A Poem The only one song in the album featured driven rhythm guitar , but in chorus and solo only. This is the most touching song in the album. And we can notice there’s a little drum bit at the beginning of the song.
5. Let She Out of The Cloud A simple song with clean guitar as backing. Some licks were also added for a fuller texture. The “ahhh….” part can be a very nice sing-along kit. This song is also featured a dual guitar solo.
6. Talking To The Moon A album with a song of the same name. Heavy chorus guitar were used. And also some synth, this song give the album another different character, from just pure band sound soft music to some electronic stuff! This is a very short piece of instrumental.
7. By The Sea Piano and string played with keyboard by their friend Marco were used for more deep feeling.. This song also featured the opening number of the album “morning haze” in the lyrics. It’s the darkest number of the album.
8. Paris Just guitar and vocal make up this very “silent” song. We can listen to Felix’s voice clearly in this song and enjoy the Crosshair’s signature sound.
9. Let She Out of The Cloud (Acoustic Version) [Bonus Track] It’s the same song but a different clear version. Just a little bonus from the group.
Funky drumming + simple bass line + clean guitar backing + lead licks with modulation + soft vocal=Crosshair
Thanks for adding us and greetings from Germoney By the way: (Almost) all of our CD tracks have now been released on our website LISTEN and have lotsa phunn!!
