   About Crosstown Traffic
Philadelphia’s Crosstown Traffic performs groove oriented jazz/rock, R&B, and classic 60's rock. The band formed after guitarist Greg Davis & keyboard player Wally Smith finished a ten year run at South Street's JC Dobbs as the Last Minute Jam Band. They set up home base at Walsh's Tavern in West Philly, adding drummer Ronny Crawford. Crosstown Traffic was also one of the house bands at Delaware Avenue's Rock Lobster club for over 12 years. Philly drummer Jimmy Coleman currently fills the drum seat. Occasionally singer Jeannie Brooks performs with the band. While most gigs are played as a rock based organ trio, the band will sometimes add bass man Chico Huff, reed man Jay Davidson & trumpeter Jason Golley. The band has performed throughout the tri-state area along with three trips to Japan where they released a self produced CD and video. The music performed is energetic, experimental, and a little loud. Crosstown Traffic plays an interesting mix of rock influenced jazz covers, jazz influenced rock covers, a few original tunes, and always has lots of fun with wild, electric improvisation.

Likewise Wally.  i have a Xtet gig coming up Oct 17 for Media Jazz Fest.  Originals mostly.  I think you'd be a great fit if you can make a couple rehearsals.  Bill Davis on flutes, Pio Voluntad on drums.  Bill has the melodies.  You get to comp and solo.  Let me know how to get hold of you.

Just listened to "43rd Monday" and "C Section." "Well You Needn't" just starting up.

Diggin' 'em..."C Section kinda nicely reminds me of "No Mystery"-era Return to Forever.

Cool.
