  • Bio

Formed in 2005, Crowboy was named for the sounds we make: ragged, mysterious, beautiful, enthusiastic, resourceful. Crowboy is all of this and more, in the music written & performed by Christopher Smith and Todd Redmond. These Colorado natives are both visual artists who can't help but bring their unique outlook to their music. The result is something both familiar and fresh: strong dynamics, catchy melodies, sparkling harmonies, and sharp lyrics that pour new energy into the fine tradition of American music. When performing live, the full band (Brian Bodley on drums, Chris Ramey on pedal steel & banjo, and Dave Sweeney on bass) provide a high energy punch to shows, always fun & unpredictable. Crowboy has had the pleasure of performing at many Colorado clubs and events, including Bender's, The D-Note, Oskar Blues, Waterloo Icehouse, Larimer Lounge, as well as major festivals such as the South Park Music Tour. With our music, we are eager to connect with as many similarly-wired people as possible. "This release comes off with more than a bit of surprise. Recorded over a year, in the spare bedroom of one of the principles on the cd, nearly everything about this record comes off very strong...Lead singer Todd Redmond has one of the most satisfying rough-hewn Rocky Mountain rock-country voices in the region. Seriously, this is one of the best country-rock records I've heard come out of this area since Buckskin Stallion's Blue Ribbon Buzz." ~Review from Colorado icon & music champion Chris K, aka The Goat.

All the best in 2010! Enjoy our new video "Ceili Mor" (The Big Dance) - and stop by our web site for a FREE download of the song. "Ceili Mor" is in gaelic, so unless you speak the Irish language you won't understand a bloody word. The video was a blast to shoot however, with everyone having way too much fun. * *  Cheers!
