Crucifer was a death metal band in the early 90's. Crucifer, without the help of the internet, Myspace, Facebook, Twitter, You Tube or any other modern way of promotion managed to be an underground metal favorite across the globe. They did this during a time where truely heavy bands received little or no airplay or promotion. Crucifer started out selling demos through mail order until discovered by Wild Rags Records in 1992. Wild Rags Records and Crucifer had a great relationship and released 3 cd's and a 7" record together. Crucifer and death metal were not about being popular or selling thousands of cds. It was about the brutal music and the fans that appreciated it. Crucifer with the help of Wild Rags Records released some amazing material. "Festival Of Death" and "Pictures Of Heaven" still remain two of the most purchased underground death metal cd's. They are true death metal classics. Crucifer was short lived however. Around 1994 the band started to lose focus and parted ways for about 3 years. They re-united in 1997 for one final show. The band has not recorded any material since 1994.
