Steve Bryant (a.k.a. Cru Jonez) is the drummer for several NYC based bands (Boomclique, Elcodeck, Michna & Raw Paw, Smash Mechanics, Peculiar Gentlemen, Nite Club, Benzos) as well as a producer and composer. His live shows throughout the city are rare but legendary, combining electronic elements (laptop, synths, samples, loops) with live drumming.
His self produced debut album, "The Dynamic", showcases both his prowess behind a drumkit and in the studio. A single from that album, "May" has been picked up and pressed on 7" vinyl by Organik Recordings and is available worldwide (B side is "Painted Basement", also off of The Dynamic). A new full length album is currently in the works to be released by Organik.
Just back in NYC after a nationwide tour with Michna & Raw Paw, Cru will be performing solo and with his various bands in and around the city through the spring and summer. Keep your ears open...
Cru Jonez has an excellent new remix out for our act Dorosoto (aka Forrest of U-Cover). The album also features contributions from Anders Ilar (Merck), Tobacco (Anticon), Joseph Auer (Boltfish), Jack Marchment (Benbecula), Ontayso (U-Cover) and many more. Limited quantities on black digipak. The Cru Jonez remix is currently streaming on our myspace player.
