Crush Proof Box is a Chicago Area Band, which was formed in 1994. In the beginning, Dave Enlow approached Mark Nagode with his original material. They worked together in developing a style they felt was something unique and special. That same year, Jon Nagode was brought into the project adding many ideas, which proved to be an intricate part of the writing team and added that extra touch. Through process of elimination and frustration, they finally latched onto the stellar Bass talent of Rudy Z. Because Rudy and Dave had worked together in Ruby Starr Band”and other musical projects, the group immediately fell into sync.
This foursome basically have become writing machines, starting first with mostly acoustic style writing and now adding that “electric” feel in the newer material which they feel can touch a broader spectrum of listeners.
Last, but certainly not least, they added Mike Paulson. After auditioning many drummers, the group felt he was the perfect choice. He adds the percussion feel as well as a solid beat to keep the unit together.
The influences have included “the music we grew-up with and the many musical talents we have had the pleasure to perform with”. The goal is to create and enjoy the music! “That’s the one thing that can’t be taken from us. Hopefully, one day, our music can be enjoyed globally. Playing live is our drug. Creating music is what keeps us all alive.”
