Crush is a NC/VA based band that delves in rock,jazz, and anything else that we find interesting. Who we are is not important. Where and if we play live is also not important. What matters is we write music that pleases us and hopefully pleases a few listeners as well.
Our music is on the Podsafe Music Network (music.podshow.com) and has
been utilized in several podcasts.
For those of you wanting a bio, Chip and Darren met in high school in Richmond, Virginia. Chip, an aspiring guitar player with a newly formed band "Yesterday's Child", heard Darren tapping out beats on the bleachers in gym class. Together, they mapped out the rhythm to "YYZ" by "Rush". Chip immediately began his plot to get Darren into his band. Successes and recognition began piling up. A few years later, Chip moved to Florida, playing in a few bands, while "Yesterday's Child" stayed together, with another guitar player, renamed "Axis of Paragon". Darren left this band a couple of years after that to freelance.
Chip moved back to Virginia from Florida, and the two re-established their working relationship, and began writing songs immediately. A christmas tape released to friends started the buzz that eventually led to the studio and their first release. Things were moving so quickly that they had to have the release sent straight to their NY hotel room to hand out as promotions as they attended the CMJ music festival.
