Biography
The band recorded and produced their first CD “I Have No Name” under the name “I Am No One” in 2006. In March 2007, they played their debut gig as a duo at Madame JoJo’s and gigged the regularly developing a fan-base throughout 2007. They released their LP “I Have No Name” independently in May 2007 via iTunes and Napster across Europe, North America, Canada, Australia, and Japan.
They performed regularly throughout 2007, including shows they at The Underworld in Camden supporting Wendy James’ (formally Transvision Vamp) new band ‘Racine’, as well as electro/ industrial icons ‘Sheep On Drugs’ and Lahannya. They have since supported acts like Goteki (Visage side-project) in Oxford; Nash the Slash (Gary Numan’s former support act) at The Purple Turtle, Camden and Das Ich, also at O2 Academy. In January 2008, they changed their name from I Am No One to Cryogenica and following a performance at Black Planet in February 2008, they were nominated for an Indy Award in the ‘Best Alternative Category’. They released “Redux”, an EP of re-mastered versions of songs from their “I Have No Name” LP in July 2009. Re-Gen magazine described this CD as evolving their “previous sound into something with more substance and distinctiveness” and received positive reviews in Sphere and Devolution magazines.
Cryogenica have adopted a guitar-centred approach towards electronic music production and performance: Carina - vocals and keyboards; Jon - guitar, keyboards and samples & Scott – guitar. They use Ableton Live sample based software run from a laptop to trigger samples, drum loops and bass synths and aim to provide a full sonic experience to their live shows by mixing ambient samples using Ableton’s Live FX in between songs during their live sets.
They continued to gig throughout 2009 supporting Alec Empire (Nine Inch Nails’ former support act in 2007/9) and Motor (Depeche Mode’s support act in 2009) at O2 Academy, Islington. In 2010, they released “Re-Animation”, their debut CD as Cryogenica – a record written and produced by the band and mixed and mastered by Reza Udhin (Inertia & Killing Joke). Nocturnal Magazine (2010) described this CD as possessing “a truly unique sound” and “is one hell of a calling card”. In June 2010 they were joined by former Judda/UK Subs guitarist, Scott Snowden, and in October 2010, filmed at The HMV Forum for “Goths”, a TV show written by the team behind This Is England ‘86 & Skins (due for release via Shine Drama Studios in late 2011. The band are working with Resurrection Records to distribute “re-animation” and are actively seeking opportunities to promote this CD live through 2011.

PRESS
From Sphere Magazine, July 2010:
"Cryogenica have created an album that defies definition".
"In re-animation their influences combine to make a truly unique sound".
"Its "variation and fluidity make their album stand out."
From Nocturnal Magazine, 2010:
"Cryogenica perfectly demonstrate their multi-faceted skill and ability to keep things new and fresh."
"Re-animation is the product of a group in possession of both a well-determined vision and a vein of rare and precious talent. It is one hell of a calling card."
From Sphere Magazine, June 2009
"Cryogenica's music is deliciously catchy and brutally honest with cutting guitars slicing up deep vocals and lip-smackingly good beats throughout for a fine finish."
From Devolution Magazine, Issue 21, June 2009
"Cryogenica's sound retains a fairly dark edge, and the tracks are well written. Carina's vocals are strong and distinguished and the music has enough in the way of guts to create a backing [with] driving guitar riffs and industrial electronics."
From Re Gen Magazine, May 2009
"If this EP is a taste of things to come, then it should prove to be something to look forward to when the band releases its next full album."
"Sometimes a band has to step backwards and rework what they thought was already a finished piece - and this time it appears to be working".

Do all lead guitarists punctuate their riffs with a healthy dose of expletives???

Having some relief that promoters might be realising that getting bands to bring at least 30 people to a show may not be too realistic...

Added the finishing touches to the "pop" song last night. The odd guitar tones actually make it stand out nicely!
