Cryostorm was fully formed In late December 2007 With the intention of cultivating an exciting breed of metal. Combining beautiful melodies and solos with the technicallity and snarl of death metal saw the band rise over the next year from a local act to a popular Titan of underground metal in the southwest. Since then, the Devonshire quintet have stunned audiences everywhere with their frenetic live shows and insane guitar solos and have shared the stage with such acclaimed acts as Trigger The Bloodshed, Ingested, Shaped By Fate, Detonation and many more.
The ending of 2009 waved goodbye to a year of varied success and struggle. The year began with the receiving of numerous awards for their songwriting and performance including Garageband.com's "Track of the week". The band battled it's way through thousands of others in the Surface unsigned festival and made the national finals at the prestigeous O2 Arena in London. This branded them one of the top 16 unsigned acts in the country. Amidst the chaos of the gigs, an EP entitled "Vivify" was recorded and mixed at many different studios. Far too many. The greatest loss of the year was the departure of "the throat" Rich Marley who was closely followed by Guitarist Ben Stone.
2010 Marks an exciting new beginning for the band. With the Inception of the new Decade, Cryostorm are also welcoming an evolution. A completely fresh record will be recorded and delivered, promising that the new record will be true Cryostorm material. The sculpting of their own sound. With the founding members remaining and a newly discovered focus binding their direction, the search for a new Bassist and Vocalist begins. Prepare to have your faces melted at supernova extents by the shredding, grinding, grooving, intelligently bright, beautiful and brutal melodic powerhouse that is Cryostorm.

"Are you already hearing this bodom-esque Devon quintet blasting out 10,000 dbs on stage at Wacken 2010? We are. There's genuine, un-edited talent on display here... so look them up and don't forget to bring your stein full of Franziskamer!" - Terrorizer Magazine

...Watch out for these guys!. - Peter Griffiths - Surface Unsigned Festival
All-court metalheads Cryostorm come as a bit of a shock after that. They begin with a tom-heavy emo gush before catupulting into snarling metal steamroller. It's always nice to see a rake of a singer turn into someone you would cross the road to avoid purely through his delivery. This Hyde transformation into monsterism is tempered by the late assertion, "This song is dedicated to all of you, but most of all to our friend Stephen". There's humanity in all of this. - Peter Griffiths - Surface Unsigned Festival Semi Finals
I wonder if I keep mentioning that their name sounds like a 90s Megadrive Game, Cryostorm will come round my house and beat me up. If their fighting is anything like their music it'll cram as much super extreme metal freneticism into as small of a place as possible, leaving me mangled like I’d taken a hundred hand slaps from mecha E Honda. The crowd obeys all of their commands, as if driven to slavery by the sheer power of metal. - Peter Griffiths - Surface Unsigned Festival Regional Finals
Well, Surface unsigned certainly know how to contrast and compare their bands. The irony, of course is the juxtaposition in sounds between the previous band (see above) and Cryostorm. After the subtle blend of acoustic harmonies, we are thrown head first, without warning, into technical death metal that separates the crowd like a tank. Hardcore fans at the front and everyone else in the pit. Each note of the guitar slashes like a blade in a knife fight; and every drum beat feels like the sucker punch that killed Houdini. Screaming, and lots of it, express the fury that the band are building. The pauses leave you gasping for air and then your sucked right back into it. -David Couchman - Surface Unsigned National Finals-

£leTriKa sounds completely different from any Metal band you have ever heard. The Brazilian rhythms and the Portuguese language added to the songs makes its style unique, giving birth to a new kind of Metal. If you are really looking for something new about Metal, you should check £leTriKa out!
