I started taking guitar lessons when I was eleven back in 2000. What helped me to get where I am today was my amazing guitar teacher, Sue Burkhart. Through everything she was always by my side encouraging me, and always believed in me. If it wasn't for the encouragement, inspiration, understanding, and support she gave me I never would have made it this far. Two years after taking lessons with Sue I started to write my own songs. A good friend of our family was also always there for me supporting and encouraging me with my music, and helping me pursue it. He payed for my guitar lessons when I couldn't afford it, took me to shows to see where I could eventually aspire to achieve, and bought me recording equipment to record my songs with. When I was seventeen I started really making signicicant progress with my album, "The Distance Between Us". I had many songs that I had worked on for years which I had never completed, and I decided it was time to finish them, and really pursue my passion, my music. I had several songs I had worked on for many years which people had told me were very good, but they needed to be completed. So I started researching how to finish writting songs professionally, and spent about one year finishing up all my songs, and ended up with twelve complete songs, which are in my first album now, which is called "The Distance Between Us".
Some of my songs are about real experiences I have had in my life, others are stories that just came to me, and still others are about the lives of people I have known and their stories. I believe the keys to my success as a musician and coming this far have been that I had real encouragement and support from many people in my life, and I wrote about real experiences which are personal and universal which people can truly relate to.
