About My Book:
This book is about my journey as a chosen one. It will inspire you, captivate your interests, and scare you. My hope is that it will make you realize that there is more out there, and that the spirit world exists.
About the Author:
I am Willie "Windwalker" Gibson. I was born in Louisville, Kentucky on July 7th, 1955. My father, Robert, was Native American Cherokee, and my mother, Opal, was Irish. Up until the age of ten years old, I was raised white, and I thought I was white, until one day my father told me I was Cherokee.
I thought that was great. I had found a new sort of identity. One day in 1965, I found myself in a strange predicament. I was playing in my yard, when I saw a star appear. I watched it get bigger and bigger until it was over me. It looked like an upside down bowl with light under it. There was a flash of light then the thing was gone, and it was darker. When I checked the time, I had lost several hours. After that, I began to see and hear things that others couldn’t. I found myself being taught Shamic arts by my ancestors, thus my beginning, as Shaman Windwalker.

My first experience with the paranormal world was in the summer of 1965. It was June, I know this because school was out for the summer. I was in my backyard playing alone, it was a Saturday night, about seven o'clock. The sky was just starting to get a pretty color of pink, as the sun disappeared. I was in one of my usual down and out moods. Eleven years old feeling sorry for myself, when my next door neighbor came out to sit in his swing in his garden. His name was Mr. Gish, he was a school teacher. For a teacher, Mr. Gish was a cool guy, we started talking about different things, nothing but passing the time. As we were talking I noticed a bright light in the sky, it looked like a star. It kept getting brighter and closer. I told Mr. Gish to look. As Mr. Gish looked at the star he suddenly got up and said, "I'm going in now." He went inside and closed his porch door. I looked back up at the star, by then it was over me and it was not a star anymore. It was a giant round looking metal thing, with lights under it. It was just hovering there over me, it's lights underneath rotating. Different colors, blue, green, red and white. I should have been scared, but I was not, it was as though something was telling me it was ok. I could see under the thing and it was like looking up into a turned over soup bowl. Then, all of a sudden there was a bright flash of light, like a million flash bulbs, the thing was gone. Something was strange, it was darker than before, the sky wasn't pink anymore.
I went into my house and looked at the kitchen clock on the wall. It read nine thirty p.m. I couldn't understand what had happened. Should I tell Dad about what I saw, or maybe Mom for starters. No, they think I'm weird enough, I'll just forget about it, chalk it up to imagination.
The next day I saw Mr. Gish heading for church, I asked him about the star last night? he replied, "What star?" So I just let it drop, right then and there, I didn't want to explain something I didn't understand.
THE BEGINNING
Several days went by and I just couldn't get the star out of my head. I know I saw it; I know it came down close; so I could see it. Why didn't Mr. Gish own up to seeing it? Then one night, as I was sitting on my living room couch I started hearing humming in my ears and my head started to hurt. So I told my mom and dad that I was going to bed and I went to my room. As I lay there in my bed, the humming and pain in my head stopped. I started hearing a voice, at first it was low, then it became louder. I didn't know the voice, in fact I was ready to yell for dad. Then the voice said; "Don't be afraid, I am a friend." Your a friend, I thought, "That's right" the voice said. "I must be cracking up;" I said out loud, "No you aren't, the voice replied." "Who are you?" I asked. "One of many who watch over you Willie, we have been with you since birth." "How come I can hear you but not see you?", I asked. "You will see soon."
Just then the bedroom door flew open, and in walked my dad. "Talking to yourself son?" "Just thinking Dad", I said. "Goodnight". Dad shrugged his shoulders, and went back into the living room. "Are you still here voice?" I asked. But the voice was gone. I felt that I would hear that voice again though, at least it was someone or something to talk to.
The next several months were uneventful. Except working for Mrs. Beck. She was our other neighbor, who lived on the opposite side of us. She was an elderly lady who lived with her sister Shirley. Mrs. Beck was bedfast and could not get up. So I would do errands for them and Mom would do yard work. Mrs. Beck treated me like her grandson. Besides money, she gave me cookies and other little gifts. She would talk to me too. She would tell me how special I was. That I would know how special one day. It all kind of went over my head. I really didn't understand.
