Cpt.Stubing & the Loveboats plays slower Country-Songwriting in the tradition of Hank
Williams, Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, as well as Randy Newman, Warren
Zevon and Lyle Lovett. After all, Cpt.Stubing is a German band that
performs music from elsewhere.
They sing about a man who repairs the roof before leaving his family. About
a cowboy who wants to shoot his girlfriends new lover and gets his face
busted instead. About a mid-western middle-class family man who misses his
early love Carmelita. She was shot by her jealous brother because of the
short-lived intercultural love affair. And about a young woman who shot the
sheriff and ran over the deputy. And so on.
The band was formed in 1995. It started of as a kind of Big Band with 8
musicians and opened for very different bands like Freakwater and the
Supersuckers. After a short break of five Years, Cpt.Stubing & the Loveboats re-formed
as a duo with several guests. 2005 we opened for Terry Lee Hale and Clem Snide. Each show is different.

5/3/2006: She hasn't heard my penis for a while because the output level of that song was a bit low. Just changed it.
4/26/2006: Song Update: "She hasn't seen my penis for a while", recorded live last tuesday at the Captains Lounge. No overdubs and no animals have been harmed during the recording.
4/15/2006: "Bad Hair Day" in a better version (nearly in stereo). Recorded at a rehearsal 2005 and the incredible belgium encore song "He's Dead". Rehearsal recording April/12/2006.

Hey! Boogie & Crew...long time, but here are some news from the wild, wild East! 'Cause....at least, it's done! After nearly 6 months (with intermissions) - the new album of SAFFER & THE JUKES "Nothing in our bellies, but a fire down below" is rolling. Ten songs, half new Saffer-originals, half traditional stuff from the great american folk songbook, we love so much to play.
Official release date will be end of April! BUT, 'cause I know, the waiting is the hardest part, I decided, to upload on ym site exclusively THREE new tracks of the album as pre-mixes!
