It seems so odd to me that this little thing has actually become something. I didn't set out in life to be much more than a musician. Through all the hard work and blue collar jobs (and my inability to play any instrument capably), I guess that is what I am. I sing in a heavy metal band, and other than the family, it is my one true joy, and my one true obsession.
There is something real here in this city so small you could hardly call it that, and yet it grows, and it grows. The Salem Drunk Core. That's not punk, that's not metal, hell that's not even jazz. It is whatever you want it to be. It is what it is. Music.
People, the words defined a time and a place that is endless if you want it to be. There is a history here, and a path to be trodden to make that history legend. Be proud of what it is that we have created old friends, for let there be no mistake, the history of The Salem Drunk Core begins with CSG. Coined by Brent (pretty sure it was Brent). Hung Kung Baby, Hung Kung. Wow that has an oddly U2 feel to it (sorry guys).
The ties continue my friends...the ties continue. The band Aim to Fail is made up of former members of Fate to Hate (if you want me to call it something else Dave I will)Animosity and CSG/Los Rocktardos... ODC baby, original drunk core. We ourselves have members of Animosity and Hung Kung Product, ODC. The band Neversleep, I knew the Mayor when I was in Animosity and he was learning to play that amazing badass shit that he plays.
There's more of course, but I only know my part of the history. Procclaim The Drunk Core. Be proud of what you are musicians of Salem. You make amazing music. Make a history here for yourselves. It has begun, make legends, make music.
