On behalf of Andres Bonifacio Samahan, we humbly invite you to Filipino Culture Night (FCN) held on March 20, 21, 22, 2008 presented at San Diego State University’s Don Powell Theatre.
Andres Bonifacio Samahan is a Filipino-American non-profit student organization and one of the largest at San Diego State University . Since our establishment in 1971, we have thrived to preserve Filipino culture by means of community service, political awareness, academic excellence, and social activities.
This year’s production will mark as our 23rd Annual Filipino Culture Night titled, More Than Words. More Than Words is a story told through Drama, Dance, and Song, infusing past and present. The story focuses on the Filipino-American author Carlos Bulosan and his life detailed in his classic autobiography, America is in the Heart and the process of putting together a Filipino Culture Night.
Admission is FREE, but tickets are on a first come, first serve basis. Email us at MoreThanWords2008@gmail.com prior to the show for ticket reservations. Someone will reply with a confirmation and directions to the SDSU Don Powell Theatre. General admission tickets may be available at the door, but are not guaranteed. There is no assigned seating, so early arrival is encouraged.
Show times for Thursday, March 20th and Friday, March 21st are at 7pm. Doors open at 6:30pm. Saturday, March 22nd is a matinee starting at 2pm. Doors open at 1:30pm. We hope to see you there!

Everyone pulled together for a great PCN ... I hear nothing but good things about it.
I will never be able to express how deeply gratified I am that we all came together to pull off such a good show. Except maybe for the lucky ones who ate at the Nutwood Denny's last night. Haha ... NO WORRIES. It was the least I could do to say thanks.
PCN's still not over!!! We've got the DVD to edit. I would love for all of us to get together and watch it when its completed ... Sit tight ... It'll be a lil bit before its done!
Y'all are a beautiful bunch of people. It was one of the proudest moments of my life to share that stage with all of you by the end of our show. I was totally at a loss for words so I didn't have a chance to express everything I was feeling. But on the reals, you guys put so much effort and made the show what it was. That was YOUR show ... A few of us handled the basic logistics (like the script, choreography, etc.) but it was you guys who gave it life. Especially for our actors! You guys totally took the script and your characters to another level.
I hope you all enjoyed your PCN experience! I know I did. All the best and I hope the show has sparked a further interest in finding out who you are ... Not just culturally ... But in all the parts that make up who you are.
Special shoutout to the ENTIRE acting cast, modern suite, and all the people who helped out with things in the clutch (program, t-shirts, sound design, props, flyers ...) ... For all the people who contributed things that people don't know about ... Much thanks and gratitude.
And Blanche! We missed you ... Trust.
